Lo de que se extendió por todo el mundo me parece, por lo menos, discutible, el movimiento reformado en mi país, Chile, sin duda existe pero no es el de mayor crecimiento ni mucho menos. Me atrevería a agregar que no va muy acorde con la idiosincrasia latinoamericana. Saludos.
En México casi no existen, lo que crece mucho son las pentecostales unicitarias, por ejemplo en mi ciudad una sola denominación unicitaria pentecostal, por si sola tiene mas iglesias que todas las demás denominaciones juntas
The NIV, ESV, ASB and NLT all tell us that the church existed in Matt. 18:17, before Pentecost. I is not hard to see when you look at Matt. 16:16-18 which gives the idea that the church will be build on who Jesus is. Jesus is the Rock. Rom.9 [33] As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 1Cor.10 [4] And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. A health Christian would see that.
Piper is a heretic, a demonic individual claiming to be a Christian. The same goes for James White, John MacArthur, RC Sproul, etc.. Calvinism is not Christian, and it can cost you your soul.
Gee we know where the tomb was. It's called the Holy Sepulcher. You stood in it. Scholars agree with the historic apostolic churches about this. The Garden tomb is a nice place but only Protestants believe it may be where Jesus was laid in the tomb.
Seems like a nice guy and devoted Reformed Protestant. But boy this is sorta sad. Trying to squeeze as much Protestant experiences out of Rome as possible. Just enjoy the history of the Church.
This is so sad. I had, and attended, sleepovers regularly in the 80s. Sleepovers are some of my favourite memories, we had so much fun! It felt clandestine and bonding to be snacking,laughing and whispering at night together, the very best of times. It was a massive part of our social development. Incidentally, the neighbourhood family that wasn't allowed? The son fell into drugs and the daughter became a compulisve liar and fantasist (in reaction to not being allowed to watch what we were watching, and listen to the music we were listening to and feeling 'left out'...we always suspected). She started college but dropped out after a few months, he never went. She's dead now, and the son is sober but unemployed. They were stunted by their parents paranoia. I will say that although I was sexually abused in childhood,it NEVER happened at a sleepover. If you know the family and talk to your kids about SA, i think its much much better to let kids enjoy them.
Our priest has elaborated on this and has extended it to many areas of Christianity. The upshot is that if you think you did, then you didn't. The example given in this video is that if you think you've committed the sin, tehn you haven't. This extends to, if you think you are going to hell, then you aren't. Now, my parish is a "Hell and Damnation" parish. The priest pronounces saving "tones" over the parishoners when he sprinkles them with the holy water. He practially screams that "You will go to hell for your sins!" ALso, the holy water has THC added to it, so it burns. Anyways, the idea is that by saying they are going to hell, they really aren't. In a crazy way, the deacon has maintained that if you don't go to church, then really you are really in the "Church of the Mostly High." I can't say I understand it, but no Christian need worry about sin again. Unless it is the unforgivable sin, in which case you HAVE committed it, God bless.
I am in a situation where our family is leaving a church over some unresolved issues and we are trying to leave quietly but the leaders of the church are not letting us do so. Anyone have any sound advice for us?
So it isnt by your actions, (by your fruit) that comes from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that makes you are a member of the wider of local body of the local church. Is it about taking membership classed, agreeing with the constitution, standing up in front of the whole chruch on a sunday and speaking for 3-5min then waiting to see the show of hands as to whether you are accepted by them or not. I cant see it.
Except for what is called "Cage Stage Calvinism" and for the Theonomists, I quite like Reformed Christianity when its eschatology is Covenantal rather than Dispensational, even though I believe someone like a John MacArthur still gets the Gospel correct. I believe Reformed Evangelism gets a bad rap because it is not explained properly. For instance, I would not start with the Five Points. I would start with the sovereignty of God, the Providence of God, the Justice of God, and the Love of God. Next, I would change the labels of at least two of the Five Points. Total Depravity would become Total Inability because most people think Utter Depravity when they hear it. God does not let us be as bad as we could all the time. I believe God refrains humans from being as bad as we can possibly be. Next, I would change Limited Atonement to Particular Atonement. That makes it sound as if God only wants to save very few people. When Jesus Christ says that "Many are called and few are chosen"' he is speaking primarily to the 1st Century Jewish community. Still, Jesus Christ builds his Church beginning with 12 Jewish Apostles, plus a further 70 who are Jewish. But, the Jewish leaders and community in masse does not accept the promised Messiah. We also read that Paul writes Christ died for the many. John write in Revelation that a number no man can count will be saved in the Great Tribulation. Thus, even though the Atonement was for all. The Atonement might be for the Majority. Lastly, Grace is Irresistible. This means God actively saves and preserves all of the Elect. I don't believe God actively stops the non-elect from being saved. That's hyper-Calvinism. Instead, God passively excludes the non-elect from receiving saving Grace. Lastly, God willing the Fall just means the humans are not robots, but make choices. To avoid the Fall, humans not have the ability to chose. Because humans can make choices, the Fall happened. If we really believe that Christ died for the many, a number no man can count, we may find after all is said and done that, say, 60% or 70% of humans were numbered among the Elect. That's what I believe.

Here because I recently joined a church after being cooped up in my home for years. I became an usher, joined ladies ministry, and a leadership program. I was exhausted but I want to continue. I just need to deal with losing energy.

Though I am a Pentecostal, and I know Paul and I disagree on Pentecostal themes. But, I love his preaching, his intensity and especially his truth speaking.
