This might be one of the greatest relics from the 80s ever unearthed. The way he belts out all the high notes is simply heroic, as is the the beer chugging. And the fact he's sweating his face off in magenta and teal with a golden axe is just [chef's kiss]. Then he ends it with a perfect guitar solo like a champion. If somebody asks me what the 80s was like, I'll say it was like this video on a good day.
The Tubes are terribly underrated !!!!..One of the most very technical /and very orchestrated..!!!!! ALL with a Rock N Roll sound !! Tubes are one of my FAVS....!!!!
Love the opportunity to see this live performance (even if the echo was a bit much). Brings back memories of this song as a little kid. Thanks from Australia.
@scottthomas3877 - I would take that bac = not Bill Champlin singing, but it was Bill "Sputnik" Spooner singing at that concert... I remember that they had sound problems that night.
Many songs by the Swifts and Biebers have crossed views of 1B, and yet this beautiful song has barely managed to cross 50k.. what a tragedy, and what a demotivation for those making beautiful musics (sic)
I don’t get how this song and album didn’t do way better than it did. One of the best albums ever. It got played a lot in Australia.🇦🇺 We have good taste in bands here and expect a lot.😜
I remember him in the ‘70s, hanging out alone, leaning against the wall near “Dukes”, middle of the day, at The Tropicana Motel on Santa Monica Blvd, W Hollywood. Just…hangin’ out. God, please take me back. There will only ever be one Tom Waits. 🙏❤️
Saw this tour Boston July 1983. Bills voice nailed it there too. Their music surpasses all other bands of US, except maybe classic Kansas. The Tubes truly were Art- or Progressive Rock.
