I started this channel to share my passion for tabletop role playing games, but it all went awry when I got back into illustration and animation on a regular basis. Using Adobe Photoshop and After Effects, I'll be showing you how to create some fantastic scenes, objects, items, and bring them to life!
This video sucks and it is click bait. A tutorial means you are going to show us how to do it. All you are doing is flying through the video and talking about no tutoring? Thumbs down!!!
Hey bro! I somehow missed your comment. Thanks a bunch. Appreciated. I've been following along to your adventures in the past month. Seems like you're having a lot of fun 😄
This is super useful!! I really like your method for the loopable smoke - I feel like there are so many particle effects you could apply this process to
You're right. You can apply it to basically any random effect. And the most beautiful thing is that if you use a distortion effect, you can change it at any point later on. Oh yeah. And thanks.
@@CraftyTabletop been bugging English people to teach me some English slang. So I'll leave ya with this gem - Don't ever teach your mother to suck eggs 😂😂😂💪
thats a massive work , do you consider doing 3d scenes instead with blender and then have the details later added on photoshop ? wouldnt that give you more options , again what you did is waw effect .
I'm in the process of learnig Maya. Aiming to expand my skillset to 3D as well. The last time I did 3D was more than 15 years ago. I still know the concept and the processes behind it, but I need to learn the tools.
@@CraftyTabletop dont go to maya , for what you are doing i thought of blender directly because you will have lots of tools and assets that you can use to make 3d bashing and they have improvments over rendering and performance so that you wont worrie about the need of a high end pc , you can geberate that terrain and other buildings from nodes and i think houdini is free now if you want to add effects to the scene you create , unreal engine is a option and basicly all of these can expand your prospect to where you want to go , im saying this because i my self want and will do the same , you have the talaent and the skill set that if you use the right tools you will exell at what you do and make something special.
Thanks for the kind words, dude! I was torn in between Blender and Maya, but went for the latter because it is the industry standard after all. Unreal and Unity are the ultimate goal, but I'll have to give it time and effort.
@@CraftyTabletop I've gotta throw in my rec for blender too lol. Maya is the standard unfortunately, but as more 3D work is outsourced to other countries I'm seeing more productions pick up Blender because its virtually free. Blender has way fewer obstacles to learning, and the pipeline between it an UE is really simple
Hey, thanks, my dude! No, it's not a commission. It's a part of the adventure packs that I do monthly with Tabletop Music Bazaar and Venger's Decks. There are links in the description below the video if you wanna check them out. Basically one-shots with music, maps and illustrated items.
Thanks Chriss! Well, since it's a moonlight mask, I wanted to make the glow more moonlight like. But yeah. That purple outline gives it just enough warmth for a little bit of contrast, though I had to go with the blueish one in the end.
this is great, i love the mystical vibe you gave to benny's character and the lighting there, i think the only negative thing i can point out is the landscape, specifically the house, just doesn't look right for some reason. The story hook at the end was an unexpected but very enjoyable part of the video for me too! Great work man!
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. Yeah, as I said in the intro, I'm not the proudest about this one, there is something off, but it is what it is. 😄
@@CraftyTabletop it’s all good man You’re doing a great job and the best thing for me is the sort of podcast vibe as we watch. How you talk about other artists and your inspirations snd stuff. It’s really dope
@@CraftyTabletop Thank you. I would like to animate this rocket png logo that I am working on and I want it to fly around the earth or do what you are doing here. and it would be nice if I could get it to land in Houston. After watching your video I saw and app in envato where I think I can control the path and landing by putting in the location.
This is how I would do it: I would find a high quality large image of Earth that one could zoom in properly. The ones taken by NASA should be free to use, but I think that Envato should have some as well. I quickly googled this one here 👉 www.flickr.com/photos/gsfc/6760135001/sizes/o/in/photostream/ I would then animate the rocket to move along a path and scale it down as it approaches Houston. This guy explains it quite well 👉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tQ5wqg10x_I.html&ab_channel=SonduckFilm You could also do it in 3D space, depending on your vision. Have the rocket pass behind the planet, parhaps. I hope I gave you an idea. Otherwise, you could find a stock video of the Earth rotating and toy around with the rocket's trajectory without a lot of fuss with paths. Most of my animations are based on me having an idea and then just improvizing. That's why I don't go into detail here, but I'm always happy to help. Hopefully, I did. On the other hand, yeah... Try that app. Why not 😄
@@CraftyTabletop yes, this is awesome information. thank you for helping me. I am a novice beginner in the in the world of visual effects. i am in love with it. ill slow down your video again and keep pausing to learn more. lol
It's my pleasure. Just keep going and if you need any help, don't hesitate to contact me. And thank you for pointing out that it's too fast. I'll try to make my next upload at 60fps and see what happens. I mean, it's 3-4 hours of work compressed into 10 minutes, after all. It's very hard to decipher.
