I actually really like the "old business computer" as the starter. You start with a completely working system so you A: know everything is working. B: know everything works together. and C: can upgrade any thing with the knowledge that as an absolutely worse case you can get back to a working system. The one thing I would hope is you picked the cooler and ram heat sinks with an eye toward what you're going to upgrade next, since the CPU/motherboard is definitely the next thing to get an upgrade.
sounds like youre from the uk? get ready for some actual heat in florida and humidity lol. i know you guys think youre having a heatwave now. its actually a cool summer this year in florida. in my city its currently 33 degrees celcius or 90 degrees F, with 60% humidity but the feel is 97 degrees
It seems people are already unecessary unhelpful and rude in this comment sections so i let it be said: There might have been better options or whatever but it's not our money and it appears to me that you are happy with it and you spend time with your dad on this and that is what matters. Its crazy that ppl still run 4gen but i can agre there is litte difrence betwen 4 and 6/7 gen so if you wanna upgrade its better to go with 8 gen+ I did upgrade from i3 4130 to i3 10100f and i regret it bc i didnt need as much power as this beast give me. I play minecraft on 60hz monitor so it doesnt make diffrence for me if i play 200fps or 600fps and yuh sometimes whe sould ask ourselfs what we doing. Because i keep gtx 960 2gb in my build to this day 😭
What is spec is your and its games smooth and how you remove old thermal paste i have alienware laptop i7 4th gen and i want to clean and idont know how to remove old thermal paste you clean only with tissue paper
As long as your happy with the build, thats what counts. you now have good base for future upgrades. My daughter did similar with a 4790k cpu and a 1080ti :).
These old office PCs can still make reasonable all purpose PCs, including light gaming, but if you are going to replace basically everything but the propietary motherboard, then why not choose a better motherboard and start from that foundation?
Instead of all that RGB crap, all those RGB fans and all other unnecessary crap, i would rather invest in newer CPU platform. You can get like 9th gen i5 CPU and mobo for dirt cheap, and it would literally destroy everything that this ancient i7 3770 has to offer... Even 10th gen i3 CPU would destroy that i7 3770 in every aplication.

@@MrSamadolfo yk instead of investing into argb and an aio for a i7 3rd gen she could of gotten a better cpu to push out more performance with less bottleneck? This seems like the avg fb marketplace build to earn quick $$$ via rgb
@@wooksithey put something together with parts that were all gifted to them, its fine, tho instead of the aio i think a simple 4 or 5 pipe argb air tower cooler would be fine and easier to put together 🙂
@@MrSamadolfo its about both , like if you buy a sporty looking kia soul its not worth it ,but if buy a nice looking bmw, instead of getting a bad looking mustang ,its worth it ,so you have to do both
wondering if selling the old PC and buying some newer albeit used parts on ebay or marketplace would have been better. Not a bad effort at all, but it's always good to explore all possible options when budget is limited.

Alright, I'm subbing, also, after all, you only used the motherboard hehe, so a build from scratch (or a MEGA-UPGRADE), but overall, a really nice build!
