So I'm a 55-year-old amputee. I lost my leg below the knee when I was 18 years old. For all those years I've either been a K4 or K3 depending on my fitness level. Last time I went to go get a prosthesis from Hanger Clinic the prosthetist lowered my activity level from K3 to a K2 without telling me. He told me that I needed to use his Telehealth doctor when I have alway used my own for all the 37 years that I've been in amputee . That Telehealth doctor lowered my activity level to a K2. I went back 16 times within 6 months to get the prosthesis fixed telling him it feels like I'm dragging it around. That would have been the time for him to tell me that he lowered my activity level but he didn't in any of those 16 appointments. Then at the last appointment when he told me he was going to make me a brand new prosthesis I got there and he had a manager from Colorado Springs, Jeff, acting like he was the manager over Colorado and told me that he was not going to give me my invoices or packing slips and that I could never come back to Hanger Clinic anywhere. I laughed at him and told him that wasn't going to happen because I've been with this company for 37 years . His face turned white and he didn't say another word except for how could he make this right. Mind you I was still suffering from not being able to use the prosthesis. I had sores and cuts all over my leg. Had to go the emergency room. I contacted Medicare and did an appeal and reported the fraud, the Attorney General, the Department of Justice, DHS, the department of the interior blah blah blah. Everybody kept pointing me in different directions. I have healthcare and my daughter is my attendant so I went to my caseworker and asked for help. instead of helping me they called the police for a welfare check. Didn't need a welfare check. I needed somebody to advocate for me. After that I went home and went to bed for a month. I was so depressed. I was suicidal. Finally I picked up the phone and started going prosthetists. Found a good one who was able to look in the Medicare database and tell me that Hanger lowered my level and what I have on my prosthesis is not what they submitted to Medicare. Medicare closed my claim without ever contacto g for the proof saying they found no fraud. I just kept writing anyone that would listen. Finally I called the news. A reporter came out and interviewed me. She is still working on the story. Now I have a federal investigator on the case. I write all of this because my concern is for people who are new amputees. If you're in pain or uncomfortable please go to a different prosthetist because there is so much durable medical equipment fraud and nobody seems to care about it. They act like I'm just a dissatisfied customer rather than Hanger Clinic and Casey Plonczak and Jeff Talen in Colorado made a calculated decision to put me in a prosthesis below my activity level because the pricing tier is much higher. If you feel like you're being screwed make sure you speak up because nobody's going to tell you. Nobody is going to help you. Instead they'll try to convince you that you're crazy and irrational. Now I'm looking for a lawyer. When this first happened nobody would listen because I didn't have proof but now I have proof. If you see something or you feel uncomfortable say something very loudly. The very people who are supposed to be helping disabled people are feeding off of our disabilities. If you know a lawyer out there in Colorado hit me up.

Is your long AK a through knee amputation? ie are you referring to the Allux original or ver 11 with further refinement. How have you found your version for reliability and parts supply if needed?
😮not good. Get Ottobach C-4 or genium. Proteor is experimenting with the community with products not developed and have a high failure rate. If it was a 10th as good as they claim it would be an improvement!
A good foot, unkillable, but unfortunately very tough, according to my friends, it is not suitable for playing sports, it is good in statics where you need to use the maximum load, all top players use Challenger 1e95, this is the best foot and surpasses Ruch.

I wish I had seen this video earlier. I'm a very recent right BKA and there have been some things that are mentioned in this video that raise some red flags with my experience so far. Unfortunately, I live in a state with very few choices and I feel locked in with this particular clinic. Can you help?
So. You check your spare liners or do you put them in your carryon? I am going on a flight for the first time since becoming a bilateral BKA in a couple of months and just getting prepared.
