Do you think being an assistant before going to DH school is necessary? I’m going into DH school with no background in dentistry and I’d love to get your opinion!
Thank you for watching! I don’t believe it is necessary to be an assistant first, there are plenty of students who come in without experience. However, I would suggest before starting hygiene school, becoming more familiar with some basics because the students around you already have an upper hand. I would get familiar with teeth numbers, a little bit of tooth anatomy and some basic terms. This way, you go in with some confidence and a small foundation 🥰🥳 Congrats on getting in, wishing you all the best!

Hey Cassie! “Do it afraid” is literally how I get through life every single day!! As an introvert it takes a lot for me to try new things (especially when other ppl are involved) but I do it anyway & realize it’s never as bad as I thought it would be!
Thanks for watching! I’ve made a habit of working without them because I’ve worked with people who can’t function without them. In some cases to the extent of canceling patients for the day in order to get them repaired. I definitely prefer working with them though because they are very helpful in different ways 😇

Thanks for watching & showing love ❤️ So depending on the dental hygiene program you apply to, you may need to complete certain pre-requisites before applying. There are very few programs that offer the option of taking both at the same time or sometimes even in the same school. I would research which schools offer a dental hygiene program near you and see what their requirements are. You can find these on there School website 🥳✨

I am a black Latina living in Minnesota looking to go to school for the first time in the United States, my fear has stopped me from moving forward, but I believe God used you along with another RU-vidr and my new pastor to take the step, get out of the fear and comfort zone I've been in and move forward! I have to admit it happens to any job no matter what you have there will always be a hot head or someone, drama, etc. I think what's more interesting is that most offices let you do everything. I would leave. LOL no! I went to school to do a thing to do what I LOVE and see myself in that field. I know there will be days where it's busy in most offices and so forth. what would make me enjoy this field the most is keeping busy on the teeth no matter the patient. good, bad etc.

tysm for this, i’m an 11th grader in a dental assistant class, so my 12th grade i’ll be in clinical offices interning as a dental assistant. when i graduate i’ll have a certificate of being a dental assistant. i’m already looking forward to expanding my dental career and becoming a dental hygienist. i’m looking into colleges that offer a dental hygienist program so i can apply when I graduate. i heard about how difficult it is to get into the program so i’m very nervous!
