What I know is that the Netherlands and England have had lots of wars with eachother. With his surname being van Zieks. It does sound like an Dutch made up surname, using both "van" (a common Dutch prefix) and "ziek" (meaning sick) . It might be an indicatior that he must have had some Dutch ancestors.

yesss people be shipping everyone but a lot of the "evidence" isn't actually intrinsically indicative of romantic interest, but easily just friendship. My personal view is Edgeworth is AroAce, as he seems to be completely disinterested in romantic involvement in general.
