I'm getting a p0401 exhaust egr flow insufficient code on my 96 supercharge previa. How often and common is it to have to remove the EGR on this van? It seems quite difficult and will require special tools. Do you have experience doing this job? I did absolutely everything else.. battery, vsv valve, IAC valve, throttle body cleaned, fuel pump, fuel filter, oem plugs wires, new JDM oem distributor, coil, fuel pressure regulator, air filter, mass airflow, alternator, head gasket, .. everything. Still stalls when putting in gear sometimes, and low power. I guess EGR can cause this problem? Thank you

Hi there I’ve followed your guide meticulously . I didn’t take any shortcuts ! I’m not able to put the sprocket back into the intake cam. It’s just barely too short . I read in my repair manual that I can move the crankshaft back and forth between I help free up a bit more space but the crankshaft is not accecible using your guide. Is there a way I can free up a little more space on the timing chain so I can get it back? I was thinking maybe if I lifted the engine there was a possibility if would give me some slack
Brilliant. I will try this method to gain access to the front differential fill bolt. I have a strange scraping sound from the drive line when I start the Prev, seems be a scraping noise. Anyone have any ideas??
I had a misfire from multiple cylinders so i changed spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, distributor and now it runs worse shuts off and misfire worse. I used all cheap autozone parts. Could i have put in distributor incorrectly?
So I'm at a loss as to what I should do. My 1991 Previa that has taken me and my family all over North America, Canada and Mexico for the last 30 years has spun a bearing. The van has lived its life in the desert so no rust, new shocks and struts, and fairly new SAD shaft couplers. Shops want quite a pretty penny for a rebuild. Is it time to send it to "pic-a-Part"?
When i was a kid my mom got a previa. Definitely the best minivan. Did you use actual previa oem parts? Such as the transmission/transfer case/drive shafts/front diff, stub axles and cv joints. Or is that from a different car and custom parts?
I used two different Previas I cut a little longer in the front end of one and a little longer in the rear section of another. Then welded them together.

Recommend for oil os 5w30 synthetic and change it every 4-5k miles. Then give it a complete tune-up, which is in cap, rotor, plug wire set, sparkplugs, fuel filter and air filter, and maybe pcv valve(if available).
