Hi there! We post wed/thur weekly!

we post alternative gardening tips and share my experience growing a wide range of plants, with a Vietnamese American twist! I am a frugal gardener that love starting plants from seed and enjoy growing for the pleasure of watching my babies develop into beautiful specimens.

yeah, me either, until now because I want to get the cooler atemoya varieties. I'm thinking of practicing on my hydrangeas, they're easy to root, so maybe easy to merge with other plants 😂

I also grew papayas from seeds. I had a lot of success, and got a lot of papayas withing a year. Unfortunately, the papaya trees are so susceptible to frost damage. So the papaya trees I had from 3 years ago died this year. I have younger papayas that are also producing now, but I they (and their fruit) get frost damage even at around 37 or 38 degrees.

Mine have full sun, they were planted decades ago and have produced many years, but the last two years even though I’ve been cutting them back and adding fertilizer. The figs have been small and not getting ripe. I need help fast.

interesting, that sucks! your issue has many variables, so hard to say, but check out this post.... and I would take cuttings of your fig tree as backup www.lsuagcenter.com/profiles/rbogren/articles/page1597952870939 you can also try an online forum where you can share pic, like reddit and see what others' experiences are... good luck!!

How 'bout that tall beautiful purple 'ball' on a very thin strong stem.....it's part of the onion family - I think its called alum (sp?)..... Gorgeous! Your artichoke is Phenomenal!!! I never knew how lovely they were before harvest ❤ Will Like and will subscribe. (how are you pronouncing 'artichoke'?) You're not saying the T - -

thank you!! ...you're thinking of "Allium hollandicum/which I think is commonly refer to as alliums) I actually just looked up artichoke because I was curious of its family and interestingly enough, it's part of the daisy family 🤨 these are actually pass harvesting (though I never tried it at this stage), i'm planning to collect seeds from these as well. haha, you're right! I never noticed it before. I think I just skip the -ti- entirely, thanks for pointing that out! 😄❤️❤️❤️

I found that once it bolts, it’s pretty much done. Even after pruning off the parts that have started to flower I find they plant doesn’t really grow or produce new leaves for me! Very aggravating
@JTandLittleB
@JTandLittleB 2 месяца назад
besides weather factors that may cause it to bolt again, have you tried a hard prune? for me, I also notice they like semi-shade and have been able to harvest all summer long

When Basil shows flowers the leaves will be more bitter as the plant is and needs to be trimmed of its leaves for useage. It will also do this “bolting” as the season changes; you can re root them stalks or let the plant fully bolt to get seeds again for free 👍🏼

it is a hit or miss with me, but I found mature stem is best! pho basil are usually thai basil and usually they're pretty mature now that you mention it! but even with those, I used to have trouble too because I picked the young stems 😂

Just want to update you if you’re trying to decide if you should replace or repair… I eventually got a new expandable hose… my toddler and husband was rough with the water pressure… so if you’re the only person using the hose maybe it’ll work out or if not, maybe just get a new one to save on time repairing 😅😅😅 I got the same expandable hose like before.

We also sunk 5 gallon food grade buckets with holes all around the sides and on the top and bottom into our garden, filled with leaves, manure, veggies scraps, etc. and a few worms and just let them go to it. Added more veggie scraps, garden litter and leaves through the season. The worms come and go into the garden and the bucket eventually is full with beautiful compost.
