A story which involves a baby's brain in a grown woman's body. No wonder Hollywood gave it an Oscar nomination.

Yup. I was watching Dune 2 and I kept thinking, why did they make Zendaya look like a teen boy and why does Timothee Chalamet, who's also almost 30 look like he is about 16? Then they had their _intimate_ scene and I got it. It's the kind of Boy-Boy action guaranteed to satisfy the producers.

Strictly speaking, it seems to be an advertisement for pedophilia which makes me wonder how this gawdawful thing got made in the first place?

So this is a reimagining of the Idiot by Dostoyevsky ? Similar theme and story arch the reviewer is advocating for the film.

Haha it’s actually adapted from the book called Poor Things by Alasdair Gray

Silco is an amazing villain. Arcane goes one step beyond having a villain who merely has sympathetic motives, to having a villain who is in many ways a victim of his own flaws. He's genuine, but broken. His love isn't pure and simple; it's flawed, narcissistic, and highly codependent. He manipulates Jinx to keep her from leaving him. But unlike a typical one-dimensional villain, he doesn't do it for cynical reasons, he does it because he truly believes he is the father she needs, and he can't bear the idea of no longer having her in his life. She fulfills a genuine need in his heart to be valued and loved, and he wants more than anything to provide for her. What makes this work so well is that all of the "heroes" are just as flawed. Vi spins and distorts her prison experience in an effort to sway Powder to her side. Jayce wants so badly to play the knight in shining armor that he leaps from one misguided decision to another. Heimerdinger is both wise and naive, well-meaningly cautious but woefully out of touch. Viktor is so focused on saving his future he literally sacrifices his present. Mel has difficulty letting her guard down and being emotionally vulnerable from constantly having to play political chess. Hell, even Sevika has a remarkable amount of depth. Very few shows can make an audience mourn the death of the villain. Arcane deserves to be studied for how masterfully it managed to pull it off.

Great summary. Character flaws are what give them depth and make them authentic. I only talked about the underworld but I absolutely agree that the characters from piltover aren't inherently simpler just because they come from a privileged background. The show makers are so talented

Finished arcane for 4 time couple of days ago... Yeah. Its masterpiece. And I force myself to not watch it for a while. To be ready for season 2. Good analysis too.

It really is. Hard to see an anime that’s as deep as Arcane. Season 2 hands down

I visited your RU-vid channel. Your video content is very good and you are uploading videos regularly. I noticed that your videos are good but your RU-vid channel is not getting subscribers and views organically. Its your RU-vid channel and not well optimized. I can help you grow your RU-vid channel if you want. I am waiting for your reply

Greeting from LA, thinking of doing a solo trip to japan for my birthday this year. It will be my first time traveling solo. Not sure what to expect. I'm an introvert. Can only say a few words in Japanese. To be honest, alil bit anxious lol

I think your content and scripts are good. Even the way you edit is quite nice if a bit on the slower side. It could be improved. But the information is relayed well and i enjoyed it very much. Thank you for that! I know you know this but you'll have to get a new Mic. It's important these days if you want to make it on RU-vid. All the very best. ✌🏼😊

From the homapegae. Nice video, ditto what another commenter said about needing better audio quality. The background music overpowers your voice especially in the first few minutes so learning to mix that better would do wonders. Hope to see more uploads from you in the future!

Hey man, in the nicest way possible, you'll never get anywhere if you don't get a better mic. Nobody wants to sit through a video, let alone one that revolves around you talking, if it sounds like you recorded your audio underwater.

9:19 As a further note about the arguably key thing you mention about the bamboo sequence, I think it's not just that they seem to have lust in their eyes, but in that specific moment, the suggestion of who has the upper hand has been reversed. Now, of course, one may demand justification for the suggestion that Mubai's desire to reach out to Jen was based in anything other than a wish to pass on his knowledge and to keep her from being corrupted. All of his clearest and most explicit words and actions seem to be in line with this. But there are many things more subtle that suggest the opposite. The first that comes to mind is that various details of his plans for her don't seem to make a lot of sense. Shu Lien seemingly has to point out to him that Wudang does not take women disciples, and his suggestion in response that perhaps they'll make an exception for her seems ad-hoc and wishful. When Jen asks him why he wants to teach her, and isn't he afraid that she'll kill him once she's learned enough, he essentially just brushes it aside, without any strong reason having been established why he should trust her. Overall, Mubai just does not seem to be entirely thinking straight when it comes to Jen -- and what ever might there be to make a man not think straight when it comes to a young beautiful woman? The second is that when Mubai interrupted Jen's return of the sword, what sort of stood out is that he could easily have either just let her return it, or restrain and interrogate her right there at Sir Te's compound. Instead he seemingly deliberately gives her a number of little head starts so they can gain distance from everyone until he goes to catch her again. Is he surreptitiously arranging time alone with Jen? A third one is simply that after his encounters with Jen, Mubai just seems _too reinvigorated_ as seen by his sudden nighttime exercises in Sir Te's inner courtyard. None of this tells us that he actually had an intent to sleep with her, or even that the notion was consciously on his mind. An underlying sexual desire might color your thinking and you might still be committed to not crossing that boundary. But parallel to the superior abilities of a warrior that Mubai held over Jen, as again displayed in that bamboo scene, one power she held over him was seeing through his mere stated motivations. ---- But enough about what Mubai wanted from Jen. After having her encounters with Mubai, I wonder what you think about why Jen stole the Green Destiny for a second time? When Lo ran off with her comb, what did that lead to?
