Thanks for the info! Ive noticed its true there is a lot more cleaner nsx's in florida and cali, at this point i dont mind taking a road trip to florida and driving one back up or flying to AZ and driving one back to NY with temporary plates. Thanks again.
If you really want one, keep looking. I know people who have looked for years before they found what they wanted... other folks have been lucky and found one in a couple weeks. Don't be discouraged... in the 15 years that they were produced, there were only 8997 sold in the USA... and today, that number is reduced because of attrition... so they are rare. There seems to be a lot in So. California and Florida, so depending on where you are located, you may have to search long distance.
@MrZachgonz - to my knowledge, there is no NSX-R located in the U.S. However, several years ago there was a reported sighting of an NSX-R in the Los Angeles area... supposedly late at night on one of the freeways. However, there are several NSX's in the Los Angeles/Orange County area that "look" like an NA2 NSX-R from a distance. It is widely considered to be a false-sighting.
@knockwall123 - the NSX was manufactured between 1991 to 2005. They usually can be gotten from $23K for a 1991 in poor condition up to $80K for a nicely modified 2005 in showroom condition. I would guess that a car similar to the one in the video could be had for between $30K to $35K.
@c312eal Aaaah! V6's usually sound terrible... hopefully they can break that trend as they did in the original nsx. Perhaps in a few years when (and if) the financial climate warms up a bit, they'll offer a v10 version. :/
@CaliCal68 Type R from Honda is defined by a car that is street legal but also track ready. If you take a normal NSX, and modify it to type R specifications or better. Just don't turbo it or else it'll lose the Type R spirit. The Mugen NSX RR is modified from a base NSX. You call that ricing? It's posing to be a R according to you.
@CaliCal68 In Japan white is the colour that represents racing. When the R35 first came out, white was the most ordered colour. The red honda badge represents Type R Honda Racing. Therefore white with red Honda Badge is the true type r look. Has nothing to do with ricing. Ricing is installing gay spinners on a 2k civic, painting it lime green with a huge wing in the back while having the red badge.
@nsx1com yeh well either way its a beauty looking of a car and i would love to drive one so not in any way tryna put it down just tryna see if i got that other dudes point right =P
@clutch23q-I hear ya, but the title does not say "Complete Conversion". If it had been a compete conversion, I would have titled it "NSX-R Replica" (i.e. replica=exact representation; conversion=the process of being converted). The owner has significant changes to where I consider it a conversion. I don't think it would be fair to call it a "look-a-like" because it is an NA1 with lots of NA2 NSX-R & NA2 NSX-R replica parts, both external & internal. If you saw it, I believe you would agree.
@clutch23q and he probably meant that unless you had all of that performance upgrades aswell then its just a type r lookalike and not really a complete type R conversion =) ok peace xD
@nsx1com hmm not an expert, but id still say this is at most type R lookalike not really a complete conversion, and yeh if a noob like me can have an input on the differences well.. from net, engine, removed power steering, removed audio system etc, removed air conditioning, removed sound insulation and a single pane rear divider ( all 2nd generation jdm nsx-r ) and 1st generation jdm nsxr wouldve had similar weight reduction + suspension, brakes, springs and dampers.
champion white on every honda is an idolistic car. "Way back in 1992 a certain Ayrton Senna had a hand in developing a race performance version of the NSX, Honda's answer to the Ferrari. The result was the Honda NSX-R and the first Type R was born. It was finished in Championship White paint and the Red 'H' emblem in honour of the first Honda F1 car to win a Grand Prix in 1963, the RA272." via google
@InsaneBimmer - Thanks for your comment. I have to agree with you. When I bought it, I wanted something throaty and not too loud. But now I am looking for something raspy and louder. Bel Canto seems to be the best choice at this point.
