Brilliant. Wonderful. The Swedish poet Tomas Tranströmer published a collection named after this piece in 1996. Two geniuses. "When Liszt plays this evening he keeps the ocean pedal down so that the green power of the ocean rises through the floor and floats into all the stones in the building."
