In South Africa, most individuals who I know that are ArchTechs, has the ability to design structures like hospitals, malls, etc. It is just, that here in SA, the way it is approved differs between Architect and ArchTech. The authority differs as per rank, but the knowledge and experience does not really make a difference when it comes to rank. Again, the education also plays a role, but in an economy like ours, we tend to do more for our self-enrichment.

She should’ve said that architectural technologists focus more on the functionalities and management of the building while architects focus more on the designs and aesthetics
