Crazy to see this absolute childhood hit be beaten so fast, yet still have most of the actual authentic gameplay that I remember actually being played out. Hard to say the same for Spongebob battle for bikini bottom speed runs, despite having similar any% world record times.
this game is the nightmare that all true warriors strive for !! grats on your run even if 2 years late cheers :) can we talk more about the Juggernaut level because there is so much to say? wanna hear a long story? I discovered this game back when it came out and Xmen 6 players arcade was also a thing so I was looking foward to play as Wolverine!! I finally played the game at a friends house who rented it, he was a big Xmen fan too. Since the game was hard and challenging, we could not finish game but later on I had another friens who said he was in his way to buy a new snes game and he was not sure what to buy so I went with him and convinced him to buy Spiderman Xmen instead of lost vikings. lol Even with the game available play whenever we wanted, we still could not finish it. we discovered the trick in Gambit stage too for getting extra lives but even with infinite lives... the Juggernaut man... its so haunting hahah. And then, at that time with nonl internet, our only source of info on this game were gaming magazines that we had to hope were about that game or just a magz with some game genie codes to be able to beat it but to no avail...we searched for long years at some places which sold gaming magz we could not find any codes for this game, at that time..we were so desperate to beat it too!!. I know now that there is a thing about Juggernauts Hp but I still find it interesting that even if you do your best, i mean trying to land as many ankvil on him and clawing him in between shots...still cant beat it the hard way. noooo i dont want to jump in that big yellow net noooooo hahahahaha even then.. this game was super hard fornthe other stages too but not knowing the trick to beat Juggernaut is really something. Thank you for playing the best nostalgic Xmen game which includes Spiderman. Thanks for letting me express my best memories of this game. I love the ost and listen to it every now and then. I'm actually working on a video about this game and I'd even thought that too, even going as far as implying it in my voice over. I came to this video for footage and was surprised to see team Tails and Sonic mostly dropped after zone 2. Looking at it though, it seems like the later zones have less room for long flight sections to abuse Tails's flight like Route 99 does, whereas Amy can hammer springs for additional height and use the shoulder bash for micro-adjustments or killing air momentum from Sonic's boost. It seems niche, but there's a few moments in the run where it looks like it saves time. That's just conjecture though. Additionally, the one I do know is that Tails's flight gains way more vertical speed and horizontal acceleration when paired with Amy for some reason which is why that team is used on the last two levels. One of the coolest speedruns I've seen in awhile.
@@umwha so basically she gets all the mobility of base sonic (minus the trick system) and since she's paired with sonic holding R gives her a speed boost (since that's his partner action) and on top of that she gets an air dash. I just wouldn't want to be the second player because sonic gets nerfed into oblivion with that combo
@@caramelflann Thats so interesting that the worst partner is the best player character for speed running purposes. I always thought the best speedrunning character would be cream since her chao attack is so spammable.
Which version of the game is this? I think it may be the PC version of the game and if it is, is the PC version glitchier than the other versions? Because I don’t believe you’re able to do these kinds of glitches on the console versions
I just noticed the order of the stages in the splits. I'm guessing this means Toy Kingdom Act 3 is done first to get Amy sooner? Because if so that's hilarious.
