Just out of interest, do you think the data you input could be manipulated to mimic the trajectory of an 8.44 gr, 177 pellet ? I recently bought an HT60 without the LRF, and have set the A-E menus to give me zeros from 20 to 60 metres. I use a golf type rangefinder, which does the job brilliantly, but it would be cool if the scope could do it for me. Nice vid.
I can't see why not. The ballistics menu allows you to plug in projectile data e.g. weight, speed, coefficient etc and from that it calculates drop. It doesn't care what's propelling the projectile or what projectile you use. As long as you can plug inthe above it does the math.
@@kentoutdoorsinnz7014 Thanks for the reply. I know some calculators only cater for rim and centre fire. My Sytong sits on a TX200 and so far it has been superb. I may well add one to my HW97. Nice video by way.
Cheers, nice video, what sort of distance can you get with those? I’ve been running the CCI small game subs 1050fps, which I quite like, but you do get the occasional fast/loud one, which isn’t ideal around stock
Yeah mate weird but I think the sytong is a Chinese copy of the Chinese pard! They work pretty well for the price. I've upgraded mine to the ballistics version which makes shooting 710fps .22 much easier at distance.
Nice video mate, just a suggestion on hard track entries that are directly off a gravel road, down here in the south island we've started dead winching them to not rip up the entree, trying to keep track damage to a minimum that is in the public view, obviously if it was a private road then its a different story! Awesome video none the less 👌
Thanks buddy. Yeah it's not a public road but take your point. It's one of those entrees where slippery rock is just too hard to climb on mud tires. Thanks for your comments mate. Always nice to hear from other 4wders. South Island has some great spots!
@@fishyracingbloody ripper. Some great tracks around welli in the akatarawas. Our club runs trips near every weekend. If your heading this way let me know as we could arrange a trip for you guys! What ever level your keen on.
We will do! Interested in similar stuff to this video, got a well setup gq, twin locked, redwinch, nova pto, 37 claws etc, couple videos on my channel of it. We'll have to make something happen at some point 👌
Hi Kent, welcome from sunny Ashburton. My set up is nearly the same! Tikka T1X in 22Lr, Arken scope, but a Sytong HT-77 clip on, which is a day/night unit. Regarding the Pard, I have just bought (today) a Pard TA 32-25 LRF. I was staggered as the price of the Pard, I couldn't pass it up. Are you Nth or Sth?
Hey buddy. Na I'm in the north island mate. Woo they come with lrf now. That's cool. I've upgraded scope to sytong ht60 lrf with ballistics. Very handy shooting slow bullets like 740fps.
hey buddy did you sell a house recently in upper Hutt I remember the name and the face I'm keen to get into four wheel driving and have purchased the neighbors Pajero which you may remember i do remember you talking about a safari and you may remember I owned A LAUREL
Awesome videos mate, keep up the good work. A question about the new sytong, can you save multiple reticle/ballistic setups in it or is it a one gun only setup?
It does give you multiple profiles for zeroing different guns but I've not tested the ballistics and whether they ate also saved per profile. Will have to have a look for you mate.
@@kentoutdoorsinnz7014 awesome mate, thanks very much. Did you go with the 3-8x option? How do you find the digital zoom and do you think it would be effective to 300m or would I need to go the 6-13x option. Just trying to get something that fits the different hunting I do. Generally shooting bunnies and possums but wanting to use on another gun for deer out to 250m. Seems like your the first to get one of these and put up some videos.
@@randylillsley2561mate this is the 3-8 version. In one of my other vids I compare the pard thermal to t he sytong 3-8. Older sytong but same 3-8 and ir. That shows what it's like at about 200yrds or so. For me 6 - 13 would be too much for the ranges I shoot. Could I shoot deer at 250 with a 3-8. Yup. I reckon easy but it's not as clear as it is at 50yrds but clear enough. If you mostly shoot to about 100yrds my preference would be 3 - 8 power. I'll see if I can get a short for you at different ranges.
Does anybody want possums in their garden? I suppose some people have them as 'pets', so they might not be impressed, so fair call. I might start recording some of my shots.
Hey mate. I heard a rumour a year ago that you might be able to firmware update the older models. Do you know if that's possible? I've got an HT-60 LRF but the LRF is useless and I wish I'd never paid for that extra weight. It often shows about 4.2m no matter where I point the rifle. I also bought a PARD DS35-50 which looks like a traditional scope, but LRF is great and image clarity is better. Tried my hand and shooting pigeons in a barn the other night, but didn't record it. Pretty successful once you get ballistics (on the PARD) dialed in.
Na there was talk about an upgrade but think they just bought out a new model. Shame your lrf doesn't work well. Mines been faultless. But I know the Pard and they look like they work pretty well. Pigeons and rats would be fun!
Just got the pard ta32 19mm and couldnt believe how good it is. Had an axiom 2 by pulsar and the pard is better in my honest opinion plus got it for 700$ less than the pulsar.
Yeah mate I'm pretty happy with mine. I know you can get better images but you start paying a lot! I use it for spotting animals. That's it. And it does that really well.
In the US Bunny Busting is where we learn how to shoot from long distances with a 30.6 or work alike with a good scope; they are literally little specs in the scope and explode upon impact, thus 'busting'. Not much left for eating as it's to learn allowing for wind and drop from a far, FAR distance.
Hi buddy. Mate I've got another video up which compares the sytong to my pard thermal but in it you'll see stock at about 200 out to 300 yards. In it I'm just using the Sytong illuminator. It's pretty good. Have a look at the video and see what you think but I reckon easy clear enough.
@@kentoutdoorsinnz7014 mate I’m across the ditch and have just bought a safari. Can you tell me if I can have the car in gear and crawling while the PTO is running or will that stuff something? Cheers in advance. No one here has a clue about them lol
@@eronparker5801 yeah you can buddy. You can run the pto with the car in neutral or you can stick the car in gear and drive as well. Pto drive is off the box shaft prior to gears so it only speeds up based on engine Rev irrespective of what gear your in. They are a grunty bit of kit.
@@kentoutdoorsinnz7014 Thanks. I just took out a W10000 out of my LC and it's going back to ARB for the 2nd time to get fixed. Electric winches are not farm-proof. They are unreliable.
@@TheAtomsman lol. Mate I have a shooting stick but if it was the jiggly footage of the deer it's because I was walking up to them. And filming at the same time. It settled down once I got there.
Good work. I like my Sytong, but I haven't started taking pictures with it yet. Just bought a memory card for it, so hopefully next time I go out I can get some pictures to share. Best wishes from Nelson.
Sounds awesome. The video is really helpful. Playback in slomo has helped me diagnose why I'm missing shots. Downside of that is , although I like to blame bullets or scope the slow motion proves every time it's my shooting! But at least I can improve that.
Mate its pretty bulletproof. Even the barwork is hardly marked. Bit shit to clean though. The mud we have is like clay so will need scrubbing where I reckon a gloss paint would clean way easier. But that paint itself did not chip or scratch. And she got a hiding!
