Was it straightforward obtaining permission to overfly property? Was the insurance to do so very costly? Were there any particular complications registering with the Civil Aviation Authority if you plan to use a drone commercially ie: privacy laws etc?
Hi Brian. I use it for recreational purposes only. I don’t need insurance due to the weight (249g) and usage but I’ve chosen to have it just in case. I carry a policy that covers me for £2 million. I am registered with the CAA and have an operator & Flyer ID which are both displayed on the drone. I use a live app that details ‘no fly zones’ to ensure I’m not breaking any rules in terms of where I fly.
