This was so motivational and helpful, ty Daevin. Applying for epik in September or so, whenever I finish the TEFL, absolutely terrified but also dead excited. This really helped me realise that there will be times I feel lonely, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just part of the experience, so thanks! Random question, how do you move your stuff over from home to SK? I imagine you take essentials over in hold luggage, and then how do you get the rest over, like my desktop computer. You just ship it over separately once you arrive? Is it expensive? Thanks! Subbed :)
Thank you so much for watching + commenting 🥹, your kind words just gave me the brightest smile. Best of luck in finshing your TEFL and applying to EPIK, def let me if you have any questions throughout the application process~ regarding your current question: I actually brought everything I needed to over with me when I first moved... including an xbox system, and a coffee machine (which I then realized wouldn't work due to the outlet size differences). I didn't ship anything, though that is an option! I don't think shipping things is awfully expensive, but it also isn't the cheapest either - though it depends on the weight and exactly what you're shipping, etc. I do have friends out here whom have purchased a new PC out here, as the computers are rather cheap! I hope this can help! Thank you for the sub also 🥹~ More content like this coming very soon
hi! thank you for watching + commenting 🙆🏽♂️!! I filmed this in a public location and didn't want to disturb others by being too loud. Next vlog I'll be sure to speak at a better volume :))) thanks for watching! More content coming soon~~
Hiyoo! Thank you so much for watching + commenting! Forgive me for the late response~ This topic wasn't the easiest for me to cover, but I felt it was needed to give a real look on why moving overseas can be harrowing at first. More content like this coming, stay tuned :))
big congrats to you!! thank you so much for watching + commenting, may you have a smooth and enjoyable transition to living in Korea. More content like this coming soon, stay tuned 🙆🏽♂️
Love your vlogs! and love that you are branching out, variety is good! As someone who has visited Japan twice and is moving to Korea in August to teach English (but has never been), I am curious to know what you thought the major differences were from what you experienced? apart from language obviously haha
Hi 🥹!! Thank you so much for watching + commenting! Honestly.. the countries were similar in a few aspects however; Japan was much more cleaner (the streets virtually had no trash on them), whereas Korea's trash system involves leaving trashbags outside for pickup. I also think the people/shop owners/clerks in Japan were slightly nicer than most I've met in Korea... with that being said, I DO think Korea may be a bit more safe. Although I believe both countries are safer than the US generally, during my trip to Japan, my grandparents, mom and I were stalked for several blocks by a man in Japan. Of course, I didn't vlog any of that - and he left us alone once my dad and brother joined back with our group. That experience definitely showed me that Korea is certainly the safer country as in my near 2 years of living here, something along those lines has NEVER occured tocme here. With that being said, Tokyo is very clearly a bigger and more populated city in comparison to Seoul! Regardless of anything, I'm very eager to visit Japan again and I will hopefully try to visit Osaka and Fukuoka in the near future 🙆🏽♂️!! Also, I too moved to Korea without visiting~~ Thank you again for taking the time to comment, I appreciate you! I'm currently planning a vlog on the pros and cons of living in South Korea, please stay tuned 💌
hi hi! thank you for watching + commenting! the location is called "The Pet Yuseong Main Branch" and here's the official link from Naver map: [NAVER Map] The Pet Yuseong Main Branch 대전 유성구 온천동로 75 naver.me/F40hYUg2
heyooo!! i can def make a full vid/Shorts about it!! What exactly do you need help with - I may be able to help you with any question you may have right now 🙆🏽♂️
great video! i'm currently waiting for a placement for fall 2024, but have been stressing about planning ahead. would u be able to share how much luggage u brought and if you thought it was too much or too little?
LMFAOOAOA 😭😭.. hmmm, I won't lie, the bacon and pancakes were def the closest to American tasting I've found out here! This is one of the few cafés where you can find an American style breakfast 🙆🏽♂️! The french toast was cute, about the closest I'll get to authentic out here fr 🫡🫡
Hi Hi 🙆🏽♂️ Thank you for watching + commenting! Pictures and videos outside the window while you're on the bus is perfectly fine, I do that sometimes too!! Just be careful not to take any photos/videos of others while riding the bus as that's seen as rude and inconsiderate. Sometimes the buses are too packed to even be able to get a good photo of outside also! Thank you again for watching, content like this and much more coming soon 🤓!
Apologies for another comment but I figured out the issue of why I wasn’t able to transfer money via SENTBE. I use KB bank and when they set up my account, they never gave me a certificate code to make transfers (i.e. money abroad, paying bills, etc.). Once that was set up, I was able to do the Manual Deposit to SENTBE. Still unsure how to setup Auto Deposit but the Manual Deposit should still be good. Do you know how long it takes for the money to transfer from Manual Deposit to my bank account back home? I just sent it yesterday maybe around 10:00 AM.
Hi again~ Thank you for commenting and checking-in, this is very useful information for other expats in the future/users of SentBe. The process time for SentBe depends on the two options that are applicable at the start of the SentBe process: Express & Standard. I actually also sent money yesterday, and it'll typically take about 3-ish days to send - you will get a notification when it sends completely. Express normally sends in a day! If you have any other questions, let me know 🙆🏽♂️!! Also, thank you again for commenting and following up, that means alot~~

Your good vibes and prayers and so appreciated, and I'm sending them back your way tenfold 💞
Hi!! Thank you so much for watching + commenting, when selecting your payment method on SentBe - there will be a popup that will say "Manual Deposit" and "Auto Debit". You'll select Auto debit, and I believe you'll have to input some information and then it should be good to go. I set mine up a while, but I believe this is what I did. If you have any further questions, just let me know~~~ Thank you!
@@daevin3 So I actually tried to do that but when it was asking me for my phone carrier, I don’t carry any of those phones. Do you know how to do the other route? I tried to input the SentBe account number but it was 14 numbers and on the KB transfer, it only allows 13. Sorry for all the questions. I just need this to work lol.
@@sftp4cye No need to apologize for questions~ I have a strong feeling that for SentBe, you may need access to a Korean number for everything to work smoothly. As for the manual deposit, I believe you will have to input both your bank infos, then "accept" your korean bank to transfer the money over through the korean bank's app... You may have to contact SentBe's customer support however. I apologize if my solutions aren't able to help :(( please keep me updated when you get it to work!
@@daevin3 No worries. I just wasn’t planning on getting a Korean phone number while in Korea - just one of those prepaid SIM cards I can pay monthly. As for the manual deposit, I have my KB bank setup but when I went onto the app to transfer the money, it only allows 13 characters but the SentBe’s characters was 14. Not sure if it’s the same at the ATM, though. I’ll contact them today and get back to you. This information might help other foreigners out here as well.
Sorry.....but why is it necessary to have a korean number to use the app and book a taxi? I did a simulazione with my number (italian sim) and it seems to work.... 🤔 Thanks fo the info 😊😊
Hi!! Thank you so much for watching + commenting. Yes!!! If I can do it, so can you. Sending you all the best of luck and good energy on your journey. Another updated week-in-my-life vlog is coming very soon :))) thank you so much for the support!! It's appreciated 🙆🏽♂️
I'm the author of EIGHT DAYS IN AN INNER CITY SCHOOL. Teaching in Korea was much better than teaching in America for many reasons mostly the out of control OCCUPATIONAL LICENSING for k-12 teachers in the USA
