Please donate one for my mom. She has very severe asthma which causes he lungs to build up mucus that she can't cough up. She's literally coughing all day everyday. She can't go 15 minutes without coughing NO EXAGGERATION. and we can't afford to just buy one. I have never asked anyone for anything in my life. But this would be life changing for my mom

I posted this on a reply, but I think it’s useful for everybody. I switched to a nebulizer about a year ago with sodium chloride. I do it every night. Takes 15 minutes. Definitely a life changer. Highly recommend.
He explained this quite well, but it's kinda a tricky thing to understand how it happens and what to expect for long term issues. I was diagnosed with it 10-15 years ago and I'm 45 now. Not a smoker at all btw. Several factors led to me having it and it's hard to blame one thing, but it's just something I gotta deal with. Not all that big of a deal but not that good either....
In my recent days of tobacco smoking cessation, a following dream last night involving cigarettes and the disease further intimidated me from cigarettes, if i'm ever going to consume something, it's not going to be tobacco...either way, i rather steer clear from any substance, if not tobacco, then sure other substances of use may have a noticeable and adverse psychological mental effect on me.
My father is suffering from bronchiectasis since 35 years. He got Tuberculosis in his early age which destroy his lungs. He has also a problem of heamoptysis. I am from India can you please provide me the information that this device is useful or not for him.
This guy is spot on. I can’t tell you how many primary care urgent cares I’ve had to go to when I’m on the road for business and I have to describe what the disease is that I can totally tell they’re looking it up on Google. I have had symptoms of Bronchiectasis all my life with coughing up thick congestion. It was diagnosed in May 2011 when I first coughed up blood. I have coughed up blood off and on since then. I woke up at 12:30 this morning and coughed up blood. It finally quit coughing as much and I went back to sleep. This morning I coughed up several blood clots. So I have coughed up blood almost this whole day. Right now is 2:05 and the last time I coughed it isn’t bright red but a darker red now which is concerning. I have never had it this long before.
I can relate to this. I too sometimes cough up clotted blood, followed by fresh blood. I also have periodic days-long "episodes" when I experience burning pains in various areas of my chest/lungs. I feel pretty miserable during those episodes. Early on, I visited ER during my worst episodes, but over time I came to realize I simply need to put myself on antibiotics and wait it out, scary as that can be. And yes, I am diagnosed with chronic Bronchiectasis, since 2008 if memory serves.

I got diagnosed with this at the age of 40. I probably had pneumonia 20 times as a kid and lived in a very high pollution area with bad smog. That said you have to learn to live with. Pay attention to your infections, get treatment early, lots of Mucinex with water, enjoy life. Be thankful for every breath

Bronchiectasis cannot be cured. That is why a regular airway clearance regimen helps in keeping lungs clear. SmartVest vibrates and loosens/thins mucus in the lungs so it can be coughed out more easily. SmartVest is an in-home device you need a prescription for and typically SmartVest users do the therapy twice a day - right away in the morning and again before bed.
Routine preventative maintenance of your SmartVest system requires replacement of the unit's air filter every six months, or after 200 hours of use. The fuse only needs to be replaced if it's a blown fuse.
Hi Arberto, it is not a device to use while sleeping. SmartVest users typically use it in the morning when the wake up and right before bed, getting the mucus loosened up so they can cough it out easier.
So doctor, In COPD it's just normal mucous blocking. But in bronchiactasis it's the production of purulent sputum and irreversible broncho dialation. Is it like that ?
Hello Sir I’ve been feeling mucus in my throat for a couple of years now I’m only able to swallow but can’t spit out when I take hot water it becomes a lot in my mouth I’ve been taking antibiotics but it goes and come and I don’t drink nor smoke I breath normal but at night while sleeping someone said I was finding it hard to breath a couple times don’t know maybe it’s because of the sleeping position... I’ll really appreciate it if you get back to me Thank you
And also I’m into music I hopes it doesn’t affect my vocal cords cause at times the mucus gets in the way of me trying to sing and master a particular sound
