Glad they make one for everyone. My miniMax is just perfect for the two of us: stores out of the way, uses little charcoal, gets up to temperature fast, snuffs and saves charcoal, great vent controls. It will do a whole chicken pr roast, naan bread, and with a small pizza stone, pizza or whatever. The accessories that get it past grilling are the heat deflector ( a Must-have), a 9” Lodge cast iron round griddle ( no handle) , small pizza stone, and a baby 2 litre Lodge cast iron dutch Oven. The legs are short so I sit it on three bricks to get it up a bit more. It cooks everything perfectly.
Hi Wilhelm, thanks for your opinion. Just to be clear, our prices are not high or low, they are the same as you will see on the Big Green Egg website. Like many products that appear cheaper at first, what you don't see is whether the manufacturer stands behind the product, the community you become a member of, and whether the product will last for years to come. You chose what was best for you and your budget, that's great!
@@wilhelmtaylor9863 BGE opened the door to New and Improved cookers, and also cheap knockoffs. They all work. You will have it for a Lifetime unless someone breaks it. So once you sort outmthe personality of whatever you bought, you are set forever. I bought a legacy ceramic cooker, the BGE MiniMax. Kamodo Joes look better on a spreadsheet, but I have no real reason to change, it just simply works, and works well. Competition makes good things happen, gotta love free enterprise.
Didn't even watch the video. Long story short, the biggest you can afford and store. I bought a large green egg two years ago and i wish i'd bought a bigger one. Best thing since slice bread.
Accessories, that's a BIG MONEY MAKER! It's all about MONEY! My Egg, I made everything I need for it! It's not hard, heat deflector, WOK Basket same he show cost me $3.50, Ash Basket $9.00..... you buy this from Outfitters you'll have spent so much,,,, you can't afford the RIBS, STEAKS, or Briskets!
It's awesome that you can make your own! Sure, we're in business to make a profit and so is Big Green Egg. However, for the vast majority of businesses, it is not ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. We're proud to provide a great local service. We hire many knowledgeable employees, support lots of local groups & schools, sponsor the local eggfest, volunteer our time and money for outdoor causes, etc. We value each and every customer, so if you don't have the time or inclination to build your own accessories, rest easy knowing we stock just about every one at our store!
I’ve been telling my fellow Eggars that for years. I guess they insist on spending double for the green bag despite the fact it’s made by the same company.
Thanks for bringing this up. We reached out to Hobie regarding your comment and they confirmed our suspicion that this is rare and usually due to user error. We have not seen a single issue with the scupper holes.
Thanks so much for this! Been repeatedly reading/watching reviews on this bag, wondering if the tool pouch would work for travel toiletries, and what else could fit in the back pocket of you took out the hydration. Now, I just have to find the orange one at a good price (too bad they no longer make this green)! THANKS.
Two questions. 1. I'm looking for a jacket that would keep me warm in Tennessee spring/fall, and perhaps even very mild winter days. I usually only wear a thin shirt or even a t-shirt underneath my coats. I do not wear baselayers. I realize warmth is somewhat subjective but would you kindly tell me what temperature range that you believe this jacket would keep me warm with only a thin shirt underneath? 2. Do you have experience with the Proton series? If so, Atom AR or Proton AR?
Chris John Phillips the atom lt with the hood would probably be the most versatile for your use. it is a deceptively warm piece that does ventilate quite well, which allows it to be used in many situations. i own the atom lt in both the jacket/hood and the atom ar hood. i am able to comfortably wear these jackets with only any shirt underneath in temperatures from the high 30f to high 60f, granted i run pretty warm. i do find that the hoody version is a bit warmer due to its features, especially if you utilize the hood.
I have both, at and lt. If you're tempts aren't below 20, the lt is fine. If it get lower I would go with the ar. However, the ar can heat up quickly in temps around 30 if you run warm
I’ll probably end up having both the Atom AR and the LT, but I went for the Atom AR first because it has a 30 denier fabric versus a 20 denier on the LT. To me, that should mean that the jacket will hold up under daily wear and accidents a bit better, and my plan is to use it in exactly that way. Only time will tell.
Up to 30 lbs depending on your comfort level. In general, hevier in the begging, when you are fresh is ok and the load will lighten as you consume your food and hydration items.
Travel Country Outfitters i decided to go with my dads Alice pack with a polemer airborn 1606 frame and molly 2 shoulder and hip pads.it is carry on size and it could cary 200 lbs but ilt isnt pussified.
