What a great idea! I had mostly given up on FG's for leader below 15lb because the leader is too soft and just kinks with conventional methods. This looks like a better option because you can use both hands to keep the leader straight.

I’m giving it a try I tied it three times and it’s uglier then my step sons first girlfriend. I tugged on it every way I could and it’s strong. I did not try to acomplish the fancy finish as my main knot is a C-. It is sure slick. Looking for Cali Halibut this weekend. The 1st method looks like midknot with a little modification.

Get a drag checker and test its strength. Same FG but a bit different style can have 3-5 kilo impact which is a lot.
