Now, this card obviously wasn't printed when this video was made, so obviously it wasn't mentioned (incidentally, that's a usual problem with decktech videos all around), but what do you think of Ichormoon Gauntlet here? An artifact for 2U that reads "Planeswalkers you control have 0: Proliferate and -12: Take an extra turn after this one" and it also reads "Whenever you cast a noncreature spell, choose a counter on target permanent and place and additional counter of that kind on that permanent". Seems a good fit. :)
Ethereal Usher is a transmute card that searches up a six drop. Could be good addition for finding your big three creature Polymorph effects another interesting way to get your small selection of creature straight in to play Magnus the Red seems like a great new addition for the deck too. Would help you wheel your deck in no time
Very cool deck idea. Glacial Chasm can protect you from your Hurricanes (and all other damage). You can even get it at instant speed with Crop Rotation
Hmm. Needs more actual spiders. I have rhe same commander and using green spiders , plus ramp, etc. I didn't want to solely depend on players giving me the token
I have a question about Grothama I haven't been able to find the answer too. Since he gives all creatures a triggered ability to fight him does giving Grothama hexproof stop your opponents creatures from fighting it? The ability doesn't say target but I'm wondering how that works. Some have told me fighting is inherently targeted but I thought it would have to say target. Thanks.
This is simply mind-blowing, absolutely phenomenal. This is one of the most impressive art pieces I've ever seen, with magic one of the most important parts of the game that is almost always overlooked is the art on the cards. Seeing this consistent style throughout everything, with every small detail accounted for, everything meant to work together is simply onspiring. Are these all like painted by you on the actual cards? Are some of these like digital works that you printed proxies of? Either way you've definitely earned a subscriber, this is and I genuinely mean this one of the most impressive continuous series of artworks I've ever seen.
Imprison in the moon really good and themadic as pincess Luna was inprissened in the moon before she was saved and became good. Feel like transformative and exile isnt themadic as never in the show did they exile enames or turn them into a frog or anything like that. They did befriend them so spells like control magic and confinscate would make more sence.
Fun interview, guys. Looking forward to part two. My brother brought home the Portal starter, it blew our minds (I was 11, he was 13). Next day I bought one. We were hooked and it lead us to strong friendships and our bond. I'm the only one actively playing, but I'm grateful for what this game has given me and the relationships that were made from it.
Hey do you have a discord? I want to bounce ideas off of your for this deck. My pet card is a creature tribe that only has 4 total cards in MTG History. Its the Auroch tribe. I want to copy cows, and stampede my opponent. I already made a Riku deck around it, but this sounds like a good shell as well! Please let me know if there is a way to communicate with you about it!
I love this. Originally, in the year 1999 what got me interested in magic was the art. Now my wife and I recently tried our first alter art and are hooked.
The deck was commissioned by a client a while ago. If you'd like to inquire about alters for yourself, shoot me a message @CadPopCast on Twitter or by shooting an email to cadpopcast at gmail.
I'd switch out Grim Feast with Sangumancer, because its going to trigger for every Opponent, so you get insane amounts of life quickly. Also, its a black creature, so sacrificing it with Savra out is great.
I wish wizard take a look inside spider's tribal... Spiders are in all plains and are so awesome in a fantasy world, why they are a weak and forget tribal? Damn they made cats and dog Commander spiders deserve more attention.
Alicorns consist of the ruling class over Equestria, exemplified by their extreme magical prowess, posessing the raw power and connection to nature of an earth pony, the wings and mastery over sky based magic of a Pegasus, and the horn and mastery of the arcane of a Unicorn. Equestria's day and night cycle are dictated by a pair of alicorns that are over a millennia old, and often times the Alicorns have dominance over a whole domain of magic. They are basically gods amongst the various Pony tribes and exemplify all of their strengths. Twilight has domain over the magic of friendship, of course. she's studious and stuffy, but incredibly charismatic and wise beyond her years, even if she's got serious OCD related problems. The card is flavorful, but I really wish she had a bit more lord juice. Even if it was just something like giving the team Ward, Vigilance, or Horsemanship! (I realize Ward wasn't a thing when she was printed, but magical barriers is totally a thing Twilight has been shown to be able to do, along with many, MANY other sorts of magic.) At least this wasn't as much of a flavor fail as Rarity.
Wow! Bad ass artist and very informative. I love art and MTG which why I am here… 👍🏼👍🏼 You gained a sub and inspired me to start some alters of my own! Now I shall journey to the hobby store….
I would like to ask you, if you use some sort of acrylic varnish for sealing the alters and if you got any tips on how i can prepare the surface, befor i put on the first layers. I found some other videos, in which the people roughening the surface with a very fine grid sandpaper (1000 grid), so the color will stick better to it. Started a couple of month ago with altering, so happy i found your channel. Love your arts
I don't varnish. A perfect fit sleeve is all you need. As for surface prep, I think I've covered it on a video but can't remember. I know I've talked about Staedtler markers in the past (DO NOT USE SHARPIES). If you have a regular card, you don't REALLY need to prep the surface. If you have a Japanese card, (or a card printed on a Japanese printing machine) you will need to prep the surface. 1500 grit or higher is what I like best. It's aggressive enough, but not too aggressive. Even once paint has been applied.
Ryan,. I wanted to leave you a formal 'thank you!' for all your hard work here. Your patience with me and dedication to the project has been without peer. I can't wait to finally go hands on and get the deck out into the wild. Each card is a true piece of art. This is everything I asked for and more. Outstanding my friend. Simply outstanding.
Thank you. I'm really disappointed that I cannot fit more into my schedule during the summer month. Once there's less yard work, there will be more tutorials!
