I saw a recent video of biologists doing a catch and release study. They caught numerous fish, released them, then later checked for dead fish floating and on the bottom. There study indicates there is a high mortality of fish caught at depths versus fish caught in the first few feet of water. If I recall, the mortality of fish caught at depth and released was more than 50%.
I miss the days Alabama fishery was this good, maybe if our fellow anglers will adapt to the mindset you guys have out there and release more breeders it’ll come back, love to see other guys my age and younger on it, means there’s hope yet
