Im an HVAC tech and small business owner in South Georgia. My videos are mostly for instructional purposes for novices, and experienced techs alike. I also wish to show people considering entering the field exactly what to expect. It’s hard work, technical, and at times we are in dangerous places. But, most of the time hunting for the problem, and fixing it is a fun way to spend a day.
Entering the trades such as HVAC can be very rewarding. I want those who are considering entering a trade, instead of some kind of traditional bachelors degree, that as skilled technicians we make really good money. I won’t go into detail, but I easily make more money than the engineers that designed the equipment I work on. If you are hard working drug free, willing to learn, and stay out of trouble you have a leg up on 95% of the competition in the trades, and can advance rapidly into higher paying positions.
Good video but why so many elbows. You can make any offset with two elbows. Looks like Rube Goldberg did it Also on the drill, why do you put so much pressure on those self tappers. You have a hell of a time with them. Need three screws on each connection not one or two. Get a right angle drill/impact it is priceless for someone doing the stuff you do.
I sure hope you notified whoever is paying the bill before you did all this work ? As far as I’m concerned this is all warranty work that the installer should be coming back FOR FREE !
Nothing worse than piping or electrical boxes blocking panels....GRRRRRR!!!!!!! thank God for Cutoff saws and a little ingenuity. Thanks so much for taking us along on this one.
This is exactly my problem with the same sound I've been going from video to video of trying to match the sounds. Okay so it looks like I got to go by the comments on here can I see a lot of homeowners on here or professionals who specialize in AC units. We're still in the hundreds over here in Bakersfield California and then another hot week is coming up so I'll take it as this is a warning that the compressor is going out. But can anyone help me out and let me know will it help any if I get a hard start for it or no matter what it's going to go out when it goes out??? I'm only renting right now so thank you God I'm going to go ahead and get ahold of the landlord because the day it goes out and he leaves us in the heat and I have to go ahead and get ahold of all kinds of large AC units I'm going to make sure that he pays the PG&E bill we're going to have a problem for not taking care of you when I told him to but if he has to wait because of warranty for some reason mineta understand but be reasonable and at least go halfers with me on the bill if that happens... sounds fair??
Hi Curtis, I know this is a bunch of years old, but my curiosity would’ve got away from me. Is that if I saw a filter in that thing I think oh man that might be the whole problem this filter may be plugged and the filter will cause low suction, but leave it to the expert you Fred Fred Tallahassee
As a graduate of the North Avenue Trade School, I can't think of the first reason to support the UGA Bulldogs. In the fall of '77, some freshmen disguised as Clemson fans made off with the tiger's tail. Dean Dull made them return it, but he sent it back wrapped in white and gold ribbons. We beat the Bulldogs that year too, 16-7.
Do you get nervous moving sheet metal and old equipment around in obviously very nice home?? I was, just in watching you in that tidy environment. Nice payback for all the stinky roach infested, dog yapping, fire alarm beeping houses you have to work in.
yep none of this stuff should be hard though.. with the price people pay they build in complexity... all residential AC should be 134a that home owners can top up and it should have quick connect fittings not braze.. good enough for a car vibrating down the road good enough for a home. its all a scam
@@daleborg9070 Dale you do realize every AC system has a Condenser Coil and a Evaporator Coil.. you were looking at the condenser coil and the inside evap coil had the bent fins... Bill i don't know if he does but they do make special combs to straighten those fins.. maybe its a benefit vs risk thing though.
sure they do almost every motel and a lot of hotels have these type of a/c I worked at a nursing home and they had these type of units over a hundred rooms it’s a mini without the split or window unit on steroids
@@fernandobazan829 Advantage over chiller systems is the whole place is not without cooling when the chiller goes down. That's why many hotels now use them.
I'm not an HVAC tech, but keeping a couple of 3ft pieces of 1/2" and 3/4" EMT in the truck (as appropriate), and roll the units out and back in after cleaning the glides in the housing. Also I like to have a small door mat or even a big piece of cardboard to land on, avoiding risk of damage to a customer's floor.
