I hate how there wasn’t any sold in America and only 222 in the UK same with the Edition 30 cars we don’t have those in the USA we only have the regular GTi and the orange Fahrenheit edition which only 1200 were made and I want to get my hands on one but they’re very hard to find
Why is this car so expensive? They usually fetch less than a Shadow. It must be something unique but it looks pretty standard. Just interested as to why it's so expensive. Nice car though.
What you need to bear in mind is that the amount of money you will have to spend on maintenance is quite high. I bought a 2009 997.2 c2 s. A year and a half ago from a supposed good dealership and have had various things go wrong. Radiator hoses needed replacing , engine oil temp gauge needs replacing and a slight leak on the upper oil sump. This is all costing just over 2k. I was told it’s bullet proof by the dealer ……no it’s not. My 997.2 had done 58k miles. Any higher mileage I would hate to think of the bills. I know you have to expect running repairs but any Porsche dealership or specialist is going to cost. Worth bearing in mind when you purchase a high performance car. Some of this work is being added on to my main service this feb .it will put my overall cost at 4k or higher depending on what the main service turns up. Hefty wack whoever you are !
I bought a 2005 997.1 3.6 (non S) about 6 years ago with 95k miles (private sale) It required unbeknownst to me a new earth cable from the battery, once I had that replaced I used it as my daily for 5 years & it ran amazingly. Before I bought it, it had had a Hartech service pack. The car had been looked after. Running costs for me were generally wear & tear items e.g. brakes & tyres & the odd electric window motor. Great cars ;-)
