Why is the acrylic so hard to work with in the kit??

How long did the nails last??? The tips looked a little thin, without enough acrylic they'll pop off

I’m a beginner and before I spent the money on all the stuff I was gonna get this kit. So I’m confused I’ve watched the fancy set up nail videos but do u have to cure under the lamp just when u do the gel polish or after u do acrylic application too? Also do u have to paint over the acrylic with gel polish or can u use regular nail polish?
