The track was also up against the 20th anniversary version of Band Aid, which was hogging the publicity at the time regardless of Sheila on I'm A Celeb. In fact the track struggled to make the Top 100 despite the I'm A Celebrity publicity. The Sun was quick to point out Sheila sold 55 copies on the 1st day of release, and Band Aid sold 50,000.
there's something that puzzles me... how come there is absolutely no difference between Ultra Naté's rendition (1998) and Sheila Ferguson's? They sound exactly identical, both the arrangements and the vocal? As a rule, you can identify a cover version very easily, but not here...Can anyone explain this mystery?
I think Shiela used the exact same backing track as Ultra Nate and just rerecorded only the vocals, if you listen carefully Shiela is a tiny degree of a pitch higher that Ultra Nate and enunciates some words differently, but they are very similar vocals.
