Hi everyone! Thank you for stopping by 😆. My name is Mikhail Naidoo and I am a addict... to fishing that is. After spending many hours on RU-vid watching our fellow anglers I decided to make this channel to help enrich the content that we all have to watch. It will mainly follow me during my fishing adventures, featuring many others, but will also include some catch cooks, bait presentations, trace demo's and whatever else we addicts need to do to get a bite!
Howzit Joash, personally I've never had that experience at lugs, but definitely elsewhere many locals sometimes feel like they own the spot and only their crew are allowed to fish there, so I can relate.
Bro I love your content as a new fisherman, I'm still learning the ropes and your videos are very helpful, if possible please can I come on a fishing sess with you guys
I'm glad you're enjoying it bro. I don't know everything and there alot of better anglers out there but I try to share the knowledge that I do have. Send me a mail on Mikhail.Naidoo20v@gmail.com
Shot bru, you probably won't believe it but I haven't got one yet😂I think I've only slid one bait out for the season to be fair, just not finding the time to go fishing as much anymore. When are you going to be back in durbz?
Great stuff as usual bru...❤❤❤❤Just outta curiosity which of these is edible bro..honestly I forgot plus I neva knew sum similar in facial appearance grows so large...We wer advised to eat a smaller type of a sandy by few people back in the day and believe you me It was amazing ..outside fire too..All depends how you slice or cube them you'll neva believe wat you eating cos perfectly inbetween the taste of a crayfish and prawn bro❤❤❤❤that's why I said depending of how one slices its body...I still recall my late mum moaned with we two brus not to bring that weird creature to cook inside her kitchen😮😢😅😂😂😂❤❤❤❤but the taste even left neighbors licking ones fingers..lucky no one saw its head similar to a smashed frog head in appearance 😮😅😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
😂😂😂I remember this story bru, you've told me once before in the comments but always good to hear it again😂. I think if it really comes down to it most of the stingrays and sharks should be edible, just the fact of them being sport fish comes into play and they are always released. If you watch some of the guys in the USA, they eat sharks and stingrays sometimes, I've always wanted to try it just waiting for the right opportunity. Personally though I would not kill one of these (sandshark/ guitarfish/ white spotted wedgefish) , we just enjoy targeting them too much, but there is the smaller version and I think thats the one you've probable eaten in the past. We call them lesser sandsharks, they grow to about 5kgs and look identical to the bigger ones in terms of the shape and frog head appearance😂
Well done to all the anglers, Well done to Darren on that 2m job......💪 Thanks, alot Bru. I wanted to know your length from hook to stopper knot, looks like about 40-45cm ? 👍
Shot bru, it should be around there, I'm actually at work now or I would have measured it for you. I'm pretty sure it could be closer to 30cm though. Depending where you fishing the slight difference should not have a big impact on bites as I know a few guys who fish with floats in there baits because of how all flatfish have eyes on top of their heads
Shot Bru. You can measure it and reply here when you have time. I also heard about the floating the bait for flatfish, but I see you do well without float.
No stress... I'm not sure when I'll be able to measure it properly and I don't want you to wait another season lol but basically it should be between 30 and 40cm
I use a 14ft rod. The general guide is that the longer the rod = the easier it will be to slide the bait. However off high beaches or rocks a 12ft or 13ft will work but will not be as easy as a longer rod.
Sorry for all the Question how are you getting your live bait from the beach , been trying to work it out. Like the mozzies how are you catching them from the beach or do you have a mate who’s going out to sea on days ? Thank you for the hard work really enjoy watching and thanks for help
No problem bud, I don't mind answering the questions. In terms of the mozzies, we get them ourselves, it's hard work though. We normally go to snake park pier around 1 or 2 in the morning to fish for them and then head to our spot after getting enough bait. But I've been hearing recently that snake park pier is now closed to fishing so I'm not sure how we are going to continue
@@FishingSouthAfrica sadly I’m staying away from Durban fished blue lagoon the other day and they broke into the car , not worth the hassle rather fish up north , but thank you for all the help
@@KEAGS... that range is abit tight, try save abit more. I’ve been enjoying the assassin equinox 15ft 4-6oz. I’m calling it the poor man’s hxl😂. Then you can pair it with an okuma metaloid or cedros. Alternatively you can try and get a 2nd hand Spinfisher 6500 or 7500. I have the equinox paired to a spinfisher 6500 and 30lb grinder braid
Tight lines finally you back❤I fish at Coffe bay i saw you the day you went to Rock coffee shop we must have a fishing trip together especially since the shad are around in June,July and in September they are big bra you should come around il show you some private spots😉
I'll definitely take you up on that offer! I don't think there will be a Coffee bay trip this year but when we do make one I would love to link up and learn some new spots. Send me an email address or contact number and I'll reach out
Welcome back .I'm a new subscriber and was worried and wanted to send the search party 😂.The struggle is real in jhb .You supply the oxygen we need to go on with the daily struggle and the lack to fish 😅.Excellent content always. Best of luck on the edibles Bru cant wait to see your catches
Thank you Rishal, I'm just very busy at the moment so fishing and editing is taking a back seat. But I will try and upload and soon as I can to ease the fishing bug that must be biting in jhb. Its been a slow start so far on the edibles front but hopefully it will pick up soon
Top stuff as always Bru🔥 missed the uploads.. working up in Sasolburg for the next few months and atleast the videos are keeping my mind busy, ohya and the big pomies are chowing at the moment from the beachfront up.. especially on the north coast👍, hopefully you go target them because iv been dieing to fish for them🙈
Shot for the heads up bru, I tried for them a few times during summer but I couldn't get anything besides undersize grunters. Then during the week when they were wild I was busy🤦♂️but I did manage a stumpie the following week as a constellation prize😂. Keep well bru I can only imagine the feeling with the sards being around now
Hi Bevan hope you are well bru thank you for the video it is awesome as usual we heading there in the next three weeks i hope we have some luck there once again thank you keep the videos coming be safe
Hi Suren, I'm actually Mikhail. Bevan is my brother in law but he also appears in many of my videos. We normally go in June so I'm sure you should get some decent fish! The shad can be wild at Queens at times and those big Transkei shad give a really good fight. If you can get a Kara, try dropping it in the same spot. Most times there if you don't get a bite within a few minutes you'd rather give up. All the best for your trip bru, safe travels.
Not anymore sadly, this video was taken probably early in 2023, at the time the rule was not set in stone. Now you'd rather fish on the Addington stretch during the day, as long as you are away from the swimming areas.
Ohh okayy I love the content I don't know if you know junaid the trace guy his my uncle so I fish with him at ushaka I love fishing for non eds but still alot to learn I'm only 16 hope one day I can fish with u
I know Junaid, I've fished with him quite a bit over the years. Listen to the advice that he gives you and I'm sure you will develop into a great angler. I actually have a short clip of him onto a grey that I need to find and upload😂
Howsit guys .Always good to see you guys on the beach. Keep the videos coming please.👏 Welcome back Bev also the star of the show. 😂He keeps us going 👍
I hope he's back for good...but he doesn't enjoy the cold winter mornings😂 so I'm not sure if he's going to be fishing this winter but I'm sure in summer you'll see him again
Very challenging to get on and off Queens Rock. Well done. Also the river has become very shallow over the years. Easy to cross. Continue sharing your fun with us Can't wait for the next one😂
Yes its not for the faint hearted, fishing that high up, especially when the shad are biting😂😂. We were there over the spring tide, on the high tides you would need to swim to get across but on the lows it was really shallow
Hi Sam. No you do not need a permit, but unfortunately not long after the recording of the video, my brother was chased by officials while fishing from there.
Howzit bru, fish off the piers in the night. You can also try Ushaka, they can sometimes be full up there as well but a lot more hit and miss than the piers
Great angling achievement , I know how difficult it is to get time to go fishing I work nights myself, what you did was amazing and to film it solo, brilliant, greetings from Ireland , tight lines buddy, have liked and subscribed, Brian
Hi Brian, thank you for the kind words. I was chuffed with myself after landing it on my own knowing that its a personal best🙌 thank you for the like and sub👌
