Georgie was looking good in this era. Alan too but he should have stayed with the Animals. Their music had balls, this doesn't. His career went nowhere although he did have a lot of talent. Lucky Man is a great song.
Hmm I was convinced Alan Price did a version of Goin Down Slow as part of this series but I must be getting confused. I can remember him singing it on TV with Linda Taylor and Verdi Stuart but I'm sure Pepi Lemer was one of the backing singers too.
Wow ! I saw this in 1986 on Channel 4. It blew my mind at the time and 30 years later I followed up by doing some research into Meyerhold and applying the concepts to my performance group! Thanks a million for uploading this!

The Jarrow March of 5-31 October 1936, also known as the Jarrow Crusade, was an organized protest against the unemployment and poverty suffered in the English town of Jarrow during the 1930s. Around 200 men, or "Crusaders" as they preferred to be called, marched from Jarrow to London to call on parliament to do something. They didn't. Price is a unique & brilliant musician that knows the history of his music and embraces it. The only other musician that he compares with, in many ways, is Ray Davies of the Kinks.
These four musicians are so under-rated....Price himself, the great Colin Green on guitar, the late Dave Markee on bass and the still alive Tony Carr (ne 1927) on drums
Great talent. Live talent! Great to see Beatles album songs performed live. Great arrangements. And dancers! Nice photography fx.And sets! All in all , British performing artistry at its peak back then.

I like this. This is more jazz blues than the Animals' "original" version, which was blues rock. They're all covers obviously. Woody Guthrie sung it back in the 1930s. Even that might have been a cover for all I know.
I first heard Between Today and Yesterday...on a cassette I found...I was icing my wife's wedding cake..mine too.. okay.this was five years ago....Focussed in the kitchen...on some intricate icing pattern. I had to stop.. I lit a cigarette...as you do..and listened....it was spell-binding for me...Put the second side on..exactly the same good feeling about this one..went back to the cake. Bought the record..never realised just how good Alan Price was...
Alan fut un élément essentiel des "Animals". Cette version de "The House" est funk et Jazzy, très agréable à écouter et les musiciens sont excellents. Mais ça ne vaut pas la version des "Animals", avec l'orgue de Price, la guitare de Valentine et… l'inimitable voix d'Eric Burdon !
