Thank You🖤🤍 I do love finding fun things to work with! For the decorative books I typically paint the outsides black… and the pages gold… I add a vintage postcard to the front… and sometimes add lettering to the spine. I sell them as singles or stacks tied with sari silk ribbon. I should f do I a video on making them!
I use it to add beads and sequins to some fun art cards I make. I add bits of black lace over magazine photos … then edge and cover with beads and sequins… I like to blend my colours in! I also make little voodoo dolls and I add stitched details with dmc floss! Always a good thing!
Thank You!!! 🖤🤍 oooh I like that idea! I never thought to mix them! I will definitely try that! I’m working on several pieces for a PopUp gallery that opens next Thursday… so I’ll be busy! Thanks!!!
The unbranded watercolours pencils and stencils would do the job as well . No need to sell a kidney in order to buy those generic items under a big brand name . .Personally, I refuse to feed the fat cats but that's just me . Affordable watercolour paper pads can be purchased on Amazon , they would bleed on the other side of the sheet but if it is for personal use won't mind that much . Vasili Kandinski ,with I not Y as in Russian lol Your version of Kandisnski's Colour Study ,Squares with Concentric Circles look fun and enjoyable , can be a great way to fill that composition book or art book ,so many times we struggle to find inspiration and those colour exercises are a great start . Thanks for sharing .
Thank You🖤🤍 and yes I often buy unbranded supplies. I will say the Tim Holtz pencils have no wood and are 100% pigment so it ends up being a good value.
Dear JStar, I have enjoyed your videos quite a bit and I have found them quite inspiring to say the least. A little funk and dazzle can be quite interesting and even satisfying in art. However while viewing your crown video today my eye was drawn to an ingredient listed on your pizza box. Macaroni?! What? Truly I am shocked and feel I must inform you that Macaroni on pizza is not acceptable, sir. Stop that! Carry on! 😅
Hey Shawna … I was lured by an ALDI special buy! I love Mac & Cheese… and I love Pizza, but you are correct! They do not belong together!!! Thank You for your likes and comments!!! 🖤🤍👑
Thank You so much!!! 🖤🤍 I really love how these abstract circles turned out! I’ve got to do several of my assemblage piece for a September pop up gallery, but after that I want to do more of these!!! I just listed some on Etsy that I turned into greeting cards! I love them!!!
Thank You, Lois!🖤🤍 👑… yes Crown Tutorial video coming soon!! These were my test bunch and I put them in my shop yesterday. I’m very excited to share the process… they begin with Pizza Boxes🍕& Loo Roll Tubes!!!!🧻
Lots of great stuff. Saw those stars and wondered what they look like with Distress Foundry Wax. Now I'm going to have to check out Temu. Looks like you've go a great selection of things to work with. Love those two sheets of stamps of different vintage people and objects.
I just started making some gilded paper crowns (from frozen pizza boxes)… I added the wooden stars to the crowns’ points… and painted gold… looking great already… will add gold leaf also!
Really love what you did here. I have a bunch of backgrounds set aside I now want to use the gelli plate technique to add some acrylic paints & try this technique. Love the use of the paper doll ephemera to get the silhouette. Enjoyed your video and I'll definitely check out more of what you do. You really get across the fun part of enjoying what you end up with using this technique that uses a little bit of randomness along with a little planning. I'll have to make myself one of those window sheets to help visualize which sections of the pages I would want to use on my ATCs as I think that was a great suggestion.
Thank You🖤🤍yes… I too have loads of painted papers and sometimes I just can’t see their usefulness until I cut them up! The viewfinder is VERY helpful!!! I use mine all the time … even flipping through books for cool images… great to have that as a reference guide to see how it could look cut out!
Thank You!!!🖤🤍 I really appreciate the comment!!! And yes! So simple… obviously I spent 38 minutes making paper… and 6 minutes pouncing the ink! I actually did a Short today… 45 second Ink Silhouette!
Yes somebody showed me that… I do it if I’m cutting plane cardstock into blanks, but I’m very directional when creating art/backgrounds so I end up doing the 9 cut!
I think they look good… I got a different set also… a little smaller so more from the pack fit fully on the ATC size cards… I was thinking to maybe clear emboss them (which usually enriches the colour of things) or maybe even just add gold embossed accents. I haven’t used them yet!!! I got bogged down in making mini gold resin frames for my “eye” paintings!!!
@@FunkAndDazzles clear embossing - thats a great idea. I may put some foiled bits on mine too...happy creating! Love listening to the ideas each item sparks for you. Love a creative brain monologue
Oh course they don’t fit my fingers!! Ha! But I have been just holding them and using them! And a sponge fell off one making it a great little circle paint stamp!!! I used it in my Not so Abstract Abstract women series!
Just found you on FB the other day and I very much am enjoying your videos and art! I have done assemblage art but not recently. You videos have gotten my Creative mind going! Now I just have to clean off my art table!!!
Awesome!!! Thank You🖤🤍 I love to hear that you’ve been inspired!!! I am a RU-vid junkie… always watching videos searching for inspiration!!! Of course you never know where the inspiration will come from! I visited Paradise Garden, Howard Finster, a self taught Georgia artist’s studio and found object sculpture garden! It inspired me to start making the assemblages I’ve always wanted to try!! Now I’m obsessed!!!
Thank You so much!🖤🤍 I’m so glad this format works… I love opening all the things and talking about my plans… then I turn off the camera and start playing with my new toys!!! Then I insert the images of what I did back into the video… takes longer but I think it’s fun to see the results!
