I started reading Discworld last year. As countless others who have been influenced, it was a positive turn for my life having been a Tolkien fan too, and I'm indebted to Terry Pratchett. Then Nigel Planer's voice brought them to life in a way I could never have imagined, and I was heartbroken when they started to be no longer available. I can't describe how in time you were for me to bring them to RU-vid so we could all keep this brilliant work alive. They are my sanctuary in all my hard days, and teach me small and big lessons on every listen. Thank you so much for all your hard work. Please take all the time you need to take care of yourself.
4:36:26 He has an Irrational Fear of Oblongs, not Rectangles mind you, just Oblongs. The term Oblong is used to refer to a non-square Rectangle. ... A Rectangle can be defined as a Parallelogram containing a Right Angle. A Rectangle with four sides of equal length is a Square. Thus an Oblong is a special case of an antiparallelogram and its angles are not Right Angles. In geometry, an antiparallelogram is a Quadrilateral having, like a Parallelogram, two opposite pairs of equal-length sides, but in which the sides of one pair cross each other. The longer of the two pairs will always be the one that crosses. Antiparallelograms are also called contraparallelograms or crossed parallelograms. An antiparallelogram is a special case of a crossed quadrilateral, which has generally unequal edges. A special form of the antiparallelogram is a crossed Rectangle, in which two opposite edges are parallel.
I would hate for this channel to get shut down, it introduced me to discworld, I have since bought many discworld books and sent some to Australia for my nieces. I love the older versions but thoroughly enjoy some of the newer versions with different voice actors, it gives the same book a new angle. I might add that some of the earlier recordings that are a little off on sound quality are perfectly listenable if you use a Bluetooth powered speaker or headphones( not a headphone fan personally) but my main point is thanx for introducing me to discworld, I remember when it was imaginarium & they closed it down. Terry would admire your persistence.
Straight up my favorite character is DEATH. Lollike actaully made death a lil less scary hes just doing his jo and rather nice of him to take you to the other side x this is my chosen one tonight for sleep i love how youve got them in chronological order x
Thank you very much again for uploading these!!❤ I'm stuck in bed with fibromyalgia flare up and these books transport me to the DiscWorld!!❤😊 Thus I can forget about the pain while listening to these!! I'm going to join the Discord group, I'm really looking forward to This!!😊❤ Bless you Story Time for making the world a much better place!!❤😊
You have certainly kept TP alive for me by downloading all his stories from the Discworld. I always put them on to listen to when I go to bed at night and although I fall asleep I can always go back to the last point of which I heard that particular story and carry on the next night, and so on. I’ve even saved them all into book order on my phone! Thank you for also re uploading some of the earlier ones too as that was the only thing I didn’t like was the background hiss on them but now they are much better, still a few to do I know but you will get there in time lol. I will continue to listen to your downloads of TP as they bring me such joy and I hope you continue your channel (and don’t get banned) for a long time to come. Thank you x
"As nervous as a long-tailed cat in a rocking chair factory" Pratchett and Douglas Adams are the only 2 authors i've ever known who could write hilarious and intelligent novels where EVERY sentence fits perfectly, and flows from concept to concept without any filler - it's all hilarious and enjoyable. If anyone knows work like this from other authors (and i've looked hard) let me know.
Fantastic audio quality on this one! Briggs and Nigel Planar are the BEST narrators around (I don't mind the lady who does the female books though, she's great too) I must have listened to every discworld audiobook about 100 times in the last year, they're just so relaxing and healing to listen to - Pratchett and Douglas Adams are the only 2 authors ive ever known whose every single sentence flows perfectly and humorously from one to the next with such interesting, funny, intelligent wording, phrases, and concepts.
I will join that discord day 1 for certain. So very much appreciation for your efforts. There is a reason I don't like, comment, or subscribe. It's fear of drawing too much attention, and drawing the ire of the "ban hammer."
Thank you for all the work you do to bring us these wonderful audiobooks. I’m transported to the Diskworld each time I listen and feel like I’m with old friends. It means so much to be able to relax and travel with Granny and Nanny on this fantastic journey. The witches are my favourites of all the characters. This came at a time when I really need the escapism and I can’t thank you enough.
