Tulane looks like a better football team than Arizona to me. Arizona has struggled the past 2 games against lesser competition. Tulane gas a tough def...AZ not so much.
Found a way to win, but looked very unprepared. Secondary play was poor and no rhythm on offense. We will not be able to get off to these slow starts when Big XII play starts. Hoping to see improvements against Arizona.
It would be great if the offensive play calling took a page from Collin Klein. And please let Avery do much more with his legs. Remember the magical five running touchdowns against Texas Tech last year? Just my two cents: imagine what could have been if Avery had replaced Will Howard after that. We will never know. Will ended up being far too inconsistent. One more thing: if Avery had taken over last after Texas Tech, he would have gotten a lot of experience and there would be no shaky start this year. Just my gut feeling.
What Mason and Derek didn't see because they were in the stands were Avery's reactions. When the camera was on Avery's face during the first three quarters, his expression was of a person who was part of a football game. His expression changed in the 4th quarter to someone who was in charge of the game. He had more of a "Clint Eastwood" look on his face. That's what I've been waiting for. GO CATS!!!
🌊🌊🌊 You won.Now hand out props. The “red shirt freshman?”vs Avery Johnson? Tulane QB Darian Mensah just dominated the #17 defense in the Country. 🤫🤫🤫 Read the room, not the final score. KSU did not dominate on either side of the ball. 10 plays?Arizona?Play calling? KSU will still win a bunch of games but…
That was a very good Tulane team that kstate just beat on the road with a sophomore QB with a bad performance from the defense for the most part! I think we will be just fine
I was very nervous about this game ahead of time. I'm mostly just relieved that the Cats were able to pull off the win. A lot of work to do if we want to keep winning, though. Riley's inexperience as an OC showed badly in the first half.
Every game has its own personality. Tough road win that I figured would go to the wire. Turnovers decided the game. Running the ball well. Need more from passing game. Less confusión on pass defense. Good win!! Tulane is ligit. Go Cats!!!
how come? we’re 2-0 to start, plenty of teams who can’t say that. we have all the players and pieces going into next season to actually put together a dominant squad, not just a high upside, young, talented team. we’ll have a talented QB in his second starting season with a years worth of experience, 5 🌟 recruits, etc. i’m pretty sure we should be okay if this season ends up 9-3 with a bowl win, at worst.
Yup, see my comment above. He needs to focus on the offensive line and hand the reins over to Coach Wells. He's clearly not ready to be an OC at the Power 4 level.
So many things to work on and be better in.. no question about that. But I’m fully confident in this team they’ll improve! 2-0 sure looks better than 1-1
When it comes to the secondary I would point out they were rotating guys so to me it seemed like that’s why there was so much inconsistency in the secondary.
What was the deal that the last series? Felt like they weren’t even trying to go for a first down… just trying to run the clock only up 7 against an explosive offense in Tulane.
For a young and really untested team to go on the road and battle adversity, and come from behind to get a win is encouraging. Was it pretty…NO, but they did enough to beat a damn good team in Tulane. I believe our coaching and play calling on offense and defense in certain situations really hurt us.
