How does it keep up with cars on the freeway? Do you ever find yourself speeding without trying? Is it worth getting the Iron 1200 over the Iron 883? Sorry for all the questions lol
In my opinion I would just get the 1200. I loved my iron 1200 and it had plenty of power could keep up with just traffic just fine. I never had a 883 though so I can’t speak on it but I’d say the 1200 is worth it.
I don’t use the GoPro for these. My goal is to make the audio as clean and immersive as possible on these sound only vids. I use an external audio recorder with a mic setup behind me using my body to block the wind.
No, the slip on mufflers don't come with an air filter. You've got to get that separately. I have the Arlen Ness Big Sucker installed on mine. If you're going to change exhaust and air cleaner you'll also want an engine tuner. An engine tune makes a HUGE difference.
I thought I had fixed the squeal… it went away for about a month. Now it’s back worse than ever lol. I’m still running stock pads so I’m going to swap them for something else and see if that helps.
Audio sounds great! Love the sound of your exhaust on this bike. I'm currently using your videos as calming background noise while I work! Do you have your mike mounted into your helmet?
Thanks, glad to hear that! I run a separate audio recorder that sits behind me to grab ambient audio. Allows me to run a better mic than what I can use on the GoPro and prevents that muffled sound you get through a helmet.
When I had my 2019 iron 1200 with Vance & Hines big radius, not gonna lie, anything above 50-55mph the vibrations got annoying to me for long periods of time
At 60-70 it’s okay but not great. I’ve done a few shorter (1-2 hour) trips and it’s fine. Wouldn’t want to go much longer. I haven’t done anything to the stock suspension though.
