Its so good to see this class flourishing as I started this in Australia back in the ICC days before it became KZ2. It first started as the NSW Rebel 125 gearbox series with approximately 14 drivers then it grew and I pushed for it to become part of CIK which it was but at the start only a support class but a few years later it become officially part of the CIK national series. The Pavesi race engines were king back in the day with amazing top end speed but really tough bearboxes, took some time getting used to. The class had 3 engines in it at that time Pavesi's, TM's and Vortex's . We were getting the Pavesi European team race engines after their world championship wins and my mechanic would strip them down totally and we would re-build looking for every tiny bit of machining we could master and we would get them going even faster than the Pavesi factory team. Someti,es we were shocked at the poor machining quality of the factory team and they still managed to win multiple world championships mounted on FIRST KARTS. The factory team would ask us for information and what we did to the engines to get more horsepower. Back in the day we would sell a fully built Australia / Pavesi team race engine to our spec for about $9,000.00. It's been about 18 years since I last raced in these and believe it or not I so so miss it and the thrill of these machines still flows through my veins, wish I could get my youth back :( and what's worse is we are the forgotten generation, no one remembers us, the true pioneers of this class in Australia
Still pretty handy in the kart old mate...ipswich looks to have gotten even rougher in the past few year! Im thinking of selling the Track Bike and get back into karting next year...might see you out there
Hey, the vids always look better when you have the camera mounted at the back (on the radiator I presume). It's cooler because we can see your steering/pedal inputs. Keep up the vids, cheers.
+Stephen T Hey mate thanks for the comment, I prefer that view too however my radiator mount was unavailable for this test day, next one I will have it on for sure. Cheers!
Thanks Paul, yeah the car is all sorted now, a slightly loose coilover was found which may have contributed to the problem. But all fixed now, and the car handles far better than it did on my first sprint day.
That's great to hear man. I do need to get some TT-R stickers for my kart hey, I'll hit up Mad for some :D And yes, we do need to relive the old days on GT5... they were great fun!
Good thanks mate, still playing rFactor, still making videos...will have to catch up with some of the crew for some GT5 action one day soon. p.s. You need a TT-R sticker on the front of that kart of yours buddy.. :D
