Thanks Ortiz for the great and informative talk with still learning A lot from you I just have 2 quick questions: 1- What is the ideal weight of a metal jig in the Red Sea for a depth of around 100-150 meters? 2- What do you recommend for the depth of 100-150 meters targeting groupers fish in rocks and corals in the bottom a single or double hooks and in the front or both sides of the jig? Unfortunately, game and wildlife will get smart to this 18:40 and consider it snagging instead of what they consider "line and hook" fishing. Especially with all the people on RU-vid bragging about how they foul hook fish all the time with this. That was one of the original intentions of the Japanese inventor, to not give a fish who comes close to the jig any chance. At the very least, they will limit how many hooks you can put on the jig.
I don’t see why. What’s wrong with increasing the possibility of hooking a fish? Do they not want people to be successful? I guess they don’t want fish getting hurt? Seems like banning hooks altogether would be the goal there. Just like banning assault rifles is on the road to banning all guns.
00:21 Crystal River, you don't say? Wow, went to HS in CR (Go Pirates). Man 50 miles off shore there and you're still only in 50' of water, crazy shallow. That being said loved the flats for reds and specs. Hopefully Skidmores and Jone's Restaurant are still there :)
There are plenty of ultra light and light SPJ rods on the market. Just find one that matches the weight of the jig you plan to fish. Although SPJ in 10 feet of water may not really be the right technique as you need some depth to pitch the jig properly and let it fall.

Ironically, I was just in Sodium's store for the first time the other day to look around. The next day I went on a ride out to Fort Island and on the way back I met Socrates. Great conversation with him and after seeing this I'm sure I'll be scheduling an outing .
forgot the advantages of spinners, like more drag in the same size class(in the high quality spinners) better for workin lures, at least some, etc. this was only refering to one type of fishin' in one area, far from showin' the whole picture! and when you don't have room to cast, like on the rocks with a loose stand etc. spinners are mandatory for good casting, conventionals cast good, but only when the conditions are good!
Shimano Rods are Excellent in casting distance. They performance very well for far casting than any other rod, however they break easily. i got a TX4 and it just broke while fishing. In my opinion PENN are the best rod while shimano have the best Reels & Lure.
