One thing worth mentioning is that not every ride type will have sprites for every type of track pierce. Like how the log flume only had the sprites for the shallow hill so it bugged out slightly when it hit the steep point, only displaying the last sprite it had available. If you want your merged rides to look clean it's good praxis to keep in mind what sprites you have available. For example I love using twister tracks on dive coasters to create immelmanns, large half loops, and large pull ins/pull outs to hills, but the trains don't have sprites for barrel rolls or corkscrews, so you can't use them if you want it to not bug out noticably. That being said zero clearance is like a whole new avenue for creativity. Siwtchback coasters, transfer tracks and slingshot launches, lots of new things become possible when you use zero clearance. It's really only limited by your creativity :)
Does track merging clog up your rides list? Because you'll have two incomplete rides to merge one functional ride. And what happens when you lift the zero clearance afterwards? Will your rides, paths and peeps continue to function as if, or will they crash (instantly)? Because I can imagine you don't want zero clearance to be active outside of track and path merging.
Hey does the track switch work with block breaks? Or even a double station set up like a Disney ride? I haven’t been able to get on rct2 in a while and just found the openRCT2. Is it worth getting?
Yeah, block brakes shouldn't change anything with what's said in the video. Another video of mine shows this in practice: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wVVqsVomUOU.html Dueling coasters shouldn't be effected, but I would suggest refrain from merging 2 coasters to the same piece of track. I would say it's worth getting - it's absolutely free and simply adds in new tools to construct things otherwise not possible in RCT2.
8-Cars is what we call a Trainer, which is basically a cheat engine that allows you to do basically most of the stuff you can do on Open RCT2 on the original RCT2. In other words, it's not something you need to concern yourself with if you have Open RCT2, since Open RCT2 already has most of the cheats 8-Cars would add to the base game.
Hi, for some reason, I can't find the disable clearance checks tool on the toolbar (let alone the shovel icon discussed at the start), nor can I find it in the ctrl+alt+c cheat menu. I've been searching the web for quite a few days on how to find the tool, but to no avail. Since this is the most recent video I've found posted on the subject, I was hoping you could give me a pointer or two on how to find it and or fix this issue. Perhaps I can enable it directly by using the dev console? I'm running OpenRCT2 dev build 4c6c354, if that has to do with anything. I'm also asking here because I'm a bit shy to ask on the forums and on the subreddit.
+Horsti12 Thanks! I sorta feel dumb now, seeing how simple the fix was... It's almost as bad as that time a few years ago when I had to consult the Kerbal Space Program forums to figure out how to throttle up.
