I have an amazing LG OLED with very few hours on it. I noticed the upgraded always seems to have too much color, the original uhz65 looks natural and more accurate to me on my oled set to any setting i have and I tried them all throughout the entire video. I could not find the term POP in any tech manual for a standard to judge any settings though, but it sounds cool. The late great MJ, that dude was the king of pop for sure, he could really pop though. Im not so sure about the pop here though. It looks to me that the original settings look great in clouds, skys, smoky shots, dark shots, but there are some spots in the video the upgraded looks good, just the pure black, and some range increase in the green was there, but if you just fine tune and calibrate the stock, it looks good, and anyway, after you watch a movie for the first 10 minutes you stop seeing all those fine differences anyway, same goes for sound too. You will overload if you try to sit for 2 hours always camparing whats best while watching an entire movie, not easily done if even possible. I like the original settings and I can always turn down the brightness, and the contrast up a tad. Dont wash out your clouds though, they are the best test for contrast, all the detail in clouds, thats where you notice proper contrast settings. I plan to buy the UHZ65LV. I wonder what was changed to upgrade, what eclectronic component was swapped out?

Great tutorial. So much work to get this balanced that it’s almost not even worth the time. Hours in, still not balanced. I’d rather pay someone $100 to balance it. There’s gotta be an easier way.

Great tips, but I still don't know how to figure out which wires coming out of my wall are negative or positive. This just checks wires connected to the speaker. I have wires not connected to anything yet, and I need to know which goes to positive or negative on the back of the speakers. Maybe I am missing something.

Cool info, but how do you identify the polarity of the speaker wires from the head unit when they are unmarked? Google is useless finding the answer to this question. All it gives you is a zillion variations of what U just showed us. Surely there must be others out there with this very same problem

Watching at the ANSI contrast test, for example Epson 26.5 / 0.56 = 47.32 contrast ratio. How come in reviews of many projectors generally ANSI contrast is in a range of 200-350 in the same test?

I've been watching your video's for some time now and I have to express my thanks for the incredibly detailed reviews that you provide in layman's terms. I've been a fan of JVC and Epson projectors owning both (not these ones). I wanted a 4k upgrade and because of your reviews I found a slightly demoed UHZ65 (they are incredibly hard to find even used) and I've never been happier. I've been in home theater projection since 2001 and I've seen the evolution of digital projection. I'm not susceptible to the rainbow artifact so I was glad to get back to DLP. I've looked at your actual screen shots and the pictures that stood out for me were the shots at 17.24 (real world resolution). The JVC zoomed in at 17.24 (refer to the actual screen shots on TVS Pro website) demonstrates color fringing especially evident in the white shirts. That is clearly the alignment artifact of the three panels. I don't believe you can actually get away from that in a 3 panel system. At this degree of close up the picture actually looks a little muddy because of the artifact. In comparison the Optoma looks very clean (again look at the actual screen shots on TVS pro's website) its like a slightly dirty veil was lifted. The second indicator for me were the various close up shots of the same area (again look at the actual screen shots on TVS Pro's website). Look for details in the black balcony guard rails in the white building in the far background, if you compare both, the Optoma clearly bests the JVC in clean delineation of the spindles (comparatively). The final factor, for me, was the comparison of how cleanly the Optoma renders Blueray and HD scalling to 4K (refer to JVC at 28.02 vs. the Optoma at 28.19). The was important to me because I have a very large Bluray disc collection (which I am slowly replacing the important titles). Not withstanding Kris Deering calibration of the JVC, however, and comparative review of these projectors, if he didn't see the above obvious standouts, I believe a tsetse bit a bit of bias could have crept in. I know JVC has a great following and it deserves it, especially for black levels. I believe the laser light source combined with the very unique DMD can match and surpass much more expensive native 4K projectors. I really hope TVS Pro's carry on with more comparisons with the new line of lazer source JVC projectors, it would be an interesting battle. Thank you!

We've changed focus a bit on where we are spending time and marketing efforts. Less than 10% of our business is home theater and although we still sell home theater equipment and design/install them we're focusing our efforts elsewhere to commercial/business AV engineering, design, and installation.
