Mecha lover and Indie game enthusiast eager to share my love of gaming with everyone here! (Also a worshipper of the Terraria Calamity Mod soundtrack, and also still hoping for MegaMan ZX3!)
The primary content you'll find here consists of gameplay videos showcasing various stages/bosses, but you'll also find full playthroughs of shorter games as well.
0:41 through 2:10 was probably my favorite stage section in the entire game, mainly because of how much of a power trip it feels. (I only wish it lasted a bit longer) 9:55 Is your phone ringing? Because I f-cking called it!
I was on the verge of crying as I sat through the ending (especially the part at 10:19 through 12:07), but what made that even more surprising was the fact that I had seen most of the ending before actually playing the game... 0:06 Probably my favorite boss intro in the game, no dramatic entrance or posing, just him slowly approaching you with his blade drawn like a horror movie villain. 2:24 By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes... 5:15 The first time I did this I actually took my hands off the keyboard and began to celebrate... So you can imagine my horror when I saw what happened next. 6:36 Now please do us a favor, AND STAY DOWN! 7:42 No Kuro, wait! Don't do th-! 9:26 - 9:47 My mind was blown when I put all the pieces together in my head and realized who this actually was... 13:31 I don't know how much of it is intended, but I think she looks a bit like Wenny. 14:02 For me personally, this was the saddest line in the ending, and that's because Anita was the one to give Kuro his name, so learning she forgot it after he sacrificed himself for her was quite upsetting. And then there's Wenny, who not only came up with the escape plan, but was also one of the reasons it succeeded in the first place... 14:38 Look at you... Anita... You've found a new friend!
This boss has one of, if not my FAVORITE battle theme in the entire game! 2:23 No matter how well I'm doing, this attack will ALWAYS find a way to hit me... 2:44 Let's see you try and repair this!
1:43 "Ding dong, here I come to find you. Hurry up and run. Let's play a little game and have fun." 🎶 4:21 "Ding dong, where is it you've gone to? Do you think you've won? Our game of hide and seek has just begun!" 🎶 5:09 This is for Wenny and all of the pain she went through trying to help us! 5:25 Of course you take a parting shot at us, ya sore loser...
0:22 Denied! 2:17 No, you aren't forcing me to go through a third cycle of pain and suffering, not this time... 2:32 "Kuro used the back breaker! It was super effective."
1:37 Here comes the boom! 🎶 1:00 - 2:18 This is the first time I've managed to successfully dodge this attack, and that's because I'd be up close attacking her when she'd use it, meaning I'd have no room to dodge it. 3:43 Oho, I've seen enough Doujin to know where this is going... 3:50 - 3:57 Wait a sec, that's not at all how this normally goes!
3:30 I can't even begin to tell you how satisfying this was to watch, especially with how much trouble his second phase gave me... 1:14 It's crazy how well the music synced up with his phase transition... 3:10 *Panting* What's wrong big guy!? Don't have anything left to throw at me?
22:01 "Attention everyone! Dee has fallen, which means that I, Val, am now the leader of Blue Revolver!" 1:14 - 3:51 - 16:22 - 21:46 More epic beat drops! God I love this game's soundtrack so darn much...
To quote a certain US senator: "Nanomachines, son" 3:15 Good enough for me! 10:06 - 10:40 Very relatable character. 11:05 - 13:20 What a coincidence! The oldest and newest test subjects of this cruel project meeting each other here... 14:11 I'm sorry, but I just don't believe this claim. 16:40 What a... Verbose one you are, Kuro.
27:16 "The most dangerous man of all... Is one with nothing left to lose." 28:49 What did you say again? Something about "ripping my head off."? 39:16 - 39:40 Quickest 180 I think I've ever seen. 40:19 One of the only responses to a bribe or attempted bribe that I personally accept.
This may just be a one stage demo, however, the tight gameplay, intense bosses, and phenomenal music have left a great impression on me, and I can't wait for the full release! 8:32 That was too close for comfort... And she was only the first of the six witches! 3:02 I still have no idea what I did that caused this miniboss to reappear after I seemingly destroyed it the first time, and I don't think I've seen this happen in other videos playing through the demo, so I'm glad I managed to capture this. 1:45 I cannot, for the life of me, manage to destroy this miniboss before it escapes, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I just can't damage it enough to destroy it... 1:27 - 4:57 - 6:44 I love how varied the music is, both in terms of sound and style. (I'm quite excited to hear the rest of the soundtrack when the game eventually releases)
Miniboss can spawn if you kill first two fast enough because stage script. If you kill it very fast there goint to be 2 additional, as in Jaimers video. First two also can hit each other if you stand between them when they are charging attack (omg chorensha reference).
9:09 They knew... They freaking KNEW somebody would try going behind SMD-00x during this attack, so the devs gave it these spread-shots, which it only fires in this exact scenario. 6:48 This specific attack has ended at least THREE 1CC attempts and has killed me about twenty times, so the fact that I got past it with only one death is honestly quite shocking... 2:28 The reason I time-out this phase is because during my first few runs of this game when I started playing, I would try to attack Sylphid during this phase, only for me to die instead...
1:31 Why yes, I can indeed PARRY A GOD! On a more serious note, it's surprising how smoothly phase 3 went, because usually the part of this boss where everything goes wrong...
2:11 - 2:17 Have you never heard of "Tomboys" before? 10:04 - 10:14 Yandere alert! Yandere alert! There's no point in trying to talk her down, Satsuki, just run for your life! 12:07 "I was being sarcastic." (Let's see who gets this reference) 12:42 "You'll never catch me, not when I shift into MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE!" 14:36 "You'll NEVER take me alive, Coppers!"
6:24 Run Notari, run! That's not Miroita... It's Vatista from Under Night In-Birth! Joking aside, brainwashed Miroita was the exact thing I was afraid would happen in the story, but I didn't expect it to occur at the start of the game, I thought the game would wait until the second half before revealing this...
Haha, thanks! The end was quite nerve wracking since I got hammered several times. (Just like you, I was unaware this game had a rank system, so Violette's attacks suddenly becoming twice as hard threw me for a loop)
@@AKTANEARCADE something that happened in this run which caught me off-guard was the part at 3:02 where one of the minibosses reappeared after I thought I destroyed it, I'm not sure why that happened, especially since it didn't happen during my first few attempts of this stage...
21:46 I'm sorry, but I can't hear someone say "I am god!" without thinking of Sonic.exe, and then I just start laughing to myself. 3:38 At least I didn't have to use HALF of my bombs in order to beat him this time... 5:09 Are you sure about that? 11:13 I doubt that would be pleasant... For either of us. 15:13 I almost instantly recognized this song from one of the Steam trailers. (Side note: I really hope this game's soundtrack gets released someday) 18:41 When I first saw this boss my brain went "Hey, aren't you from Devil Blade 2!?"
You can already buy this game's soundtrack. It's just sold by the guy that made the music so he doesn't have to share the profits with the creator of the game.
One thing that's really interesting in this game is how different it is depending on if you are playing for score or survival. Play for score this game is actually pretty difficult, but play for survival the game is on the easier side but still has a fair challenge to it. And then once you get to inferno mode survival is scoring and if you don't keep your berserk up game over. I also wonder if Devil Blade 2 will get a remake like this.
I wasn't aware of it while I was recording this, but if you acquire enough energy from destroyed enemies while using your hyper mode, you can actually charge up a second hyper (like in Rolling Gunner), which significantly increases your score multiplier and allows you to fire homing shots. Another useful trick I didn't know about is that you can destroy the electric barriers in stage 2.
This stage is insane it took me a few tries on original. So it definitely lives up to the name of an extra stage. But what I find crazy is this stage is harder than the normal levels on extreme mode when it is only set to original.
Oh yeah, it's a blast to play, and I'm glad I decided to give it another chance. Also, your comment about Roguelikes and Shmups not working together is what I first thought after trying out Touhou 18.5...
Decided to try this game out and I was surprised how low the difficulty is on original mode. Because usually I don't expect to 1cc a shmup first try, kind of makes me wish I went with hard mode first. But I have played some shmups where hard mode is a bad idea on a first playthrough. But I really enjoy its main gimmick where you graze the bullets to fill your gauge so you can do proper damage to the enemies, the music is also really good and the graphics are nice. What I dislike is how slow the game feels to me (Might be because I am used to bullethells enough to the point the easier ones just feel slow I don't know.) And the lack of a replay feature in game bothers me because I feel like shmups should always have one. This is probably a shmup I will go back to from time to time but it would have to be on the higher difficulties for me sense original felt too easy.
I tried playing on standard/original for this run since I felt like standard/novice was too easy (even for me), but I got destroyed when I fought Hayate/Revolgear, so I went back to standard/novice. It's a shame about the lack of a replay feature, I'm not sure why it doesn't have it (especially since the original Graze Counter did), but it's not enough to stop me from playing. I love the game's soundtrack, some of my favorites are, the stage 1 theme, the final stage theme, and the battle theme for Hayate/Revolgear.
@@metalwolfzx Well I tried novice mode and to me it was pretty stressful because I can't fill the gauges as fast and the slower speed kind of gets to me. Like to me hard mode was pretty calming to play, but novice mode I felt like I had to get the no miss or else it didn't count. Plus for some reason I can't see the blue cube attacks so they almost always get me.
0:45 This section was a total nightmare to get past, mainly because some of the turrets would pointblank me while I was close to them. (Which is harder to dodge then sounds) 5:16 This part can quickly get nasty, especially if the battleships manage to corner you with their turrets. 6:21 - 6:50 The opening part of this stage was really tricky to get past without dying, until you get the routing down, it's surprisingly easy to be killed by a stray bullet...
This game was amazing and in my opinion it did everything right as a castlevania style game. Which is funny to me because I did not like the main Bloodstained game. Also the final boss phase 2 music is great.
I had a blast with this game (despite the fact that I've never played any official Castlevania games before this), mainly because it just seemed to do everything right, from the stages, to the bosses and then finally the music (especially the bosses and music), it was an overall great experience!
@@metalwolfzx Sense you liked this game chances are you would enjoy the classic Castlevania games. (1,3,4 and Rondo of Blood.) Just keep in mind though if you do ever play the classic Castlevania games they are a lot harder than this game. And if you play Castlevania 3 play the japanese version because the US version is very unfair compared to it.
I have been tempted to try this game out. But for some reason it just always looks way too slow to me and that is always what stops me from wanting to finally get it.
22:08 I find this boss to be fairly interesting, mainly due to the fact that most of the attacks she uses are taken from previous bosses. (Which reminded me of the Albiorix battle from DE Ignition) 2:23 Do tell~🎶 9:51 She can handle herself, Uzuki. You should be more worried about yourself...
oh nice new player ahoy you know how to use discharge quite well already, that's really nice to see one thing i'd say is that during zako rushes the best way to use them is usually to open a gap for restreaming, either directly or through a blast wave in case you don't know, type C has a hyper called accel drive, you activate it by holding discharge when the thin meter at the top is half full, it increases your damage and discharge buildup also try to bomb if you think you're gonna get hit, bombs don't count toward rank or boss requirements and even lemulene's can deal a lot of damage if you get up close to enemies as for hidden bosses, keep in mind easy and normal have them at the same difficulty as arcade, so you should try getting comfortable doing low hit runs in arcade before tackling them in easy overdrives (hold bomb button) help a lot on them as well, since unlike bombs you can use their damage boost after the bomb shield expires one last thing, managing revenge bullets is important to avoid having to go through clouds of them, if you don't have discharge you can hold your fire before restreaming to create a gap, or get close to enemies to prevent bullets from spawning
@@metalwolfzx oh right i was gonna mention the extend you get it by destroying the base and top of every tower, you missed the base of the 4th this run when you got distracted by an x spinner even the smallest discharge will one shot spinners, so don't waste time getting a higher level
This game is great I love how the camera shifts and it actually effects the gameplay. Been years sense I played it last though so chances are I really suck at it now.
Haha, same here. That's the main reason why I haven't tried to record the final boss, I'd have to practice a ton before even attempting that fight again.
@@metalwolfzx oh yeah, that laser carousel with the sprinklers of doom around mighta been the thing that made me go "u know what, this is the final boss anyway. I got no more shit to see here"
I remember the final boss of this game was an absolute nightmare, I don't recall how many tries it took me to beat it, but I do know that dying at *any* point meant you had to start the entire fight over from the beginning...
I actually didn't enjoy it at first, but after realizing I had that homing shot and getting more accustomed to how it plays, I started to *really* love it.
