A decade ago Multimatic's conventional dampers were not much to write home about (Bilstein ran rings round them). But with their spool valve dampers and now this they really became a damper innovation leader. Very impressive.
Well that is one of those jobs where you really earn what you are paid. Tied to production, you have to think on your feet and come up with a solution based on your skill and the tools you have to work with. Admirable.
The screw has to turn on any height variation due to the road bumps, the weak point on this system is the bearing that helds height regulating screw. There are just two little bearings that must withstand an incredible amount of force each bump, especially when the sistem is applying some linear force to vary the height

I'm glad to see this beauty still in action even after its retirement. I also didn't know that Mazda still had some spare cars left even after scaling down to one car in 2021. Either way, I love how all these measurements on the RT24-P will help the Porsche 963 in 2023, although I'm still sad that Mazda won't be running in IMSA along with Porsche. Maybe in the future hopefully, they'll return with Multimatic and Idemitsu. Also, seeing this car in both Soul Red Crystal and White is just fabulous!
In most wind tunnel testing I've seen, they also use smoke and other mechanisms to trace the air flow - what is the equivalent to that measure here? How do they get a visualization and measure of how the air is being moved by and moving around the vehicle? Also, are all of these measurements more valuable than what a team can get from standard static wind tunnels? - that's asked because there are increased (and not insignificant) risks associated with running a vehicle at very high speed down an enclosed and relatively narrow tunnel - the data value has to match the increased risk to driver and vehicle.
