I met Dan at a song writing workshop at the Anchorage Folk Music Festival. The room was so full that people were sitting on the tables. He shared how Southern Gothic was written and played it for us. At the end he asked if there were any questions. After the great time we had in that room the only question I could come up with was “what kind of capo is that?”. Duh…🤯 Dan is the real deal.
Longtime Doyle fan Would like to have heard more of Doyle’s story. Not even a mention of his years with The Country Gentlemen. Would love to see an extended version of this story.

Tammy, we just had our 40th Nimitz reunion last night and I know you could not attend. OMG, John Hartford!! I grew up with him. I played banjo to "Yesterday" for my dad's serice in 2010. We were a part of Jerry Roe's inagrual Irving Youth Orchestta Orchestra. Linda Khun was our mutual friend. I meant "Today" Was from his first album. I grew up on him in thecearly 70's. I wish had this love of John together when we were @ NIMITZ.
Saw Rhonda last year with my brother-in-law musician Gary Jay Hoffman. My father is from the Clinch Mountains. We were like 2 little boys in a candy store.
Guy is one of the best singers ever and absolutely great guy to go with it! My honor to play on the same stage and at the same venues he did and even more an honor to be able to meet him and the rest of the band!
Rob Ickes is a treasure of musical talent, generosity to other players, a true gentleman of the dobro. Thank you for highlighting his talent and love of the art.
She's also amazingly gracious, she'll often turn to other members while they are "soloing", and give them her complete attention and smiles, just don't see that so much anywhere else.
