@RZrzgames original rom. Original control. Digital dpad control like original game. I just practiced it alot. Miles and miles of retry. Turns out the game isn't broken, it's just insanely hard and needs a loco amount of patience.
The emulator does have a slightly better framerate than the original system, so that may have helped. But it is on original settings, there was no way to lower the framerate to match system. but the rom and control is all original. This game controls terribly. But with a lot of practice it does work. And was a fun challenge.
@turntablethomas2584 thanks for taking notice and the comment! But yea this from the mostly instrumental "Metro" remix. So it's missing lots of lyrics from the original Big Apple track / music video. Big Apple marks their first single with Nick Beggs "bassist" as lead singer. The band fell out of popularity after they kicked out their original singer Limahl. So anything beyond their first album remain hidden gems.

Nice gameplay, but I simply cannot stand the awful sound emulation on this awful system. All the sounds are either low pitched or high pitched because the sound isn’t being emulated correctly. And that’s why I hated the AtGames Genesis so much, especially when I had mine.
Interesting that the easier "mode B" 2-speed setting STARTS easier & racks up more points, but eventually becomes basically not possible later on. I later have come to the conclusion that these speed settings are not a "difficulty" setting so much, but more of a "preference" thing much like how the other difficulty switch turns music on and off. 😎
yep. i can agree with that. Its a nice preference option forsure. the game SELECT switch chooses Easy Medium or Hard on this game. the 2 difficulty switches are for (3 speed gear box/2 speed gear box) and (Music On/off)
I have just spent the last 5 minutes trying to figure out what this song was, and then suddenly, Kajagoogoo - monochromatic. Another catchy 80s tune, as well as too shy & hang on now.
yup! .. to be specific it's the live version, found on the B side to Kajagoogoo Big Apple "the 12 inch Vinyl" Very catchy tunes from this band forsure.
In the vid I say they all have that. More like 25% .. there are different patterns to discover too in what's been warn down from possibly 10 decades of weathering. The ones under roofs are slightly less worn. Some new bricks have been added in the garden but you can tell which ones are the old ones by the strange designs.
Also my favorite controller if all time. Love the size, shape, the d-pad of this generation, especially love the placement and size of the ABC buttons because they are clearly inspired of arcade cabinet buttons that are larger, but they are still small enough for a pad. It looks cool. It’s curved and round in all the right places. As great bow as it ever was Just the best!
