Lena, are you familiar with Dior highlighter in 05 Rosewood Glow? How does Hermes Or Rose compare to it? I thought I liked rosewood glow initially because it was like skin color. Today I tried it again and it leaves a slight tan cast with pink glow. I’m forever looking for a great formula highlighter that is same as my skin color. Chanel’s last year holiday highlighter is a perfect match but I’d like to also have one without glitter. I adore Tom Ford Soleil Neige and Soleil highlighters formula, seems like Hermes Or Rose might be it if it does not leave a cast from its base. It sold out again arghhh.
Hi, I am familiar with Rosewood Glow and ironically, it is one of my favorite Dior "blushes"! I am on the light/fair side so many highlighters leave colors (or cast) on my complexion. Having said that, I think you might find Hermes Or Rose just perfect as it is lighter than Rosewood Glow. As you see in the comparison, it is close to Dior Riviera. I also adore TF highlighters but I'd say the finish is a bit different from the Hermes. Hermes has more oomph although it is still very refined. Can't believe it sold out again. I will keep an eye on it!
@@lenallure Oh I will try Rosewood Glow as a blush, thank you for this idea. It is indeed a pretty very light tan base with pink shift, and possibly an ideal blush. I’m glad you mentioned it, I didn’t think of that! And I’m looking forward to trying Hermes Or Rose. @@chicnothings My pleasure! It just came back in stock on Nordstrom. I think Or Rose has a bit more pink than the last year's Chanel but the tone is close.
I was so surprised that many reviewers were not very high opinion about this palette. I wanted to order it anyway. I'm so glad that I did! The colors can be controlled by mixing them together. I can tone down that orange. I also adore that sparkle shade. It gives wet eye lid look, but the sparkles are all kinds of colors, holographic. That's why it looks grey in the pan. All holo shadows look like that, with grey cast. But on the lid it is not grey. This makes it a beautiful topper.
Thank you for sharing your own experience! I loved learning something new about the sparkle shade. I love using it as a topper over a dark base - such a festive way to do a simple smokey look! I feel the same way about the negative or rushed reviews. It's almost like they had made up their minds already, rather than trying them for real. @@Vanissa_N My pleasure! I think the Dior is close but the Hermes has more oomph. I don’t have a lot of experience in Hermes makeup but I can vouch for this highlighter and their lip colors. The eyeshadow I tried recently was so so. 😅

It was a fun trip down memory lane to see you do a modern interpretation of an eyeshadow combo that was popular back in the early 80’s-orange and purple. I’m not sure, but I think it was Esteé Lauder who had a duo with those two shades. The Chanel quad offers a more luminous, a more delicate, take on the look.

Love purple with orange, peach, and mint green. I wanted to create a soft hazy look but this formula can pack a punch as well. Love this versatility 😃
Thank you so much, Talia! I myself have mature aging eyelids and they work just fine! Some of the eye shadows are baked (if not all) and that gives me a lot of flexibility. 😀
