Automotive restoration, automobile enthusiasts, automotive historians, automotive photographers. Our RU-vid story began when we made our first three-part video series about our 1939 Graham. That was in 2010 when we filmed with an Android Mini, state-of-the-art for the time. The video has had over 10,000 views! Since then we have added over 100 videos and created 13 playlists. We have 19 videos about our 1926 Kissel 6-55 Brougham, 14 of them document the restoration of the vehicle. It sold at Russo and Steele in Monterey August of 2019. Be sure to watch our series about our 1918 Kissel, which sold at Barrett-Jackson, Scottsdale 2020! Some of our most popular videos feature a 1937 Terraplane with the electric hand, How to Sand and Buff Clear Coat with 3M, 2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP, and Highlights from Barrett-Jackson, Scottsdale 2020. We are going to continue to grow and produce quality videos about various collectible cars and how to restore them. Welcome to Carz Plus.
This is exactly what i needed. No other installation video showed using a ground wire for the horn. My new steering wheel from LMC Truck (Grant Steering wheel) did not include the extra wire and Grant had no instructions that showed it. It was driving me crazy because it had every indication it needed a ground wire but wasn't mentioned or shown anywhere. Thanks so much.
I purchased the replacement handle on Amazon which arrived in 2 days then followed the procedure detailed in the video. It took about an hour for the removal and replacement. It was a bit tricky getting the new pin and spring in place as demonstrated but everything went well and the new handle is now installed and working properly. Thanks for the detailed video.
Hello! I’m working on an 80 Camaro, I got to the 4 torx bolts I lock tighted them down now the problem is when I pop the pins in it’s extremely hard to move the tilt, I put the spring in same thing, I have to pretty much force the thing to tilt, and it wont tilt up anymore only down. and when tilting down it doesnt tilt down smooth like it used too, idk if its the way im installing the tilt collar or what but thats my idea, i keep putting it on and off and its not moving up and down like its supposed too.
I'm doing my first paint job, using the duplicolor deep blue, clear coat and using self etching primer on my old truck. Ive done it before but with rattle cans, it lasted for 3 years its been 10 years since and the fenders look great still. Info was great thanks
Great job. I am at that stage with my repaint and the cutting buffing is intimidating but you make it look easy with great results. I was also quoted $10,000 for a basic job and up to $20,000 for show quality and with some work and time I'm at about $1400 now. My lil Cobra is looking pretty good with its home job and now to make it even better with your tips. Thanks.
Question please. I bought the replacement piece off of Bay and installed per your video. For some reason the new half circle piece does not stay in place when a drink is in the holder. The new piece comes out of the apparatus on both sides. The pin does not stay in the slot and the other end comes out of the metal guide. Any ideas on what I need to do? Thx.
I just got done installing cover set. On my 74 square body. Bought it from LMC. That was a nightmare. The damn thing is junk. Wouldnt fit and it tore. Do not buy one. Real expensive junk!!
Remember that this is a 76 and was done a few years ago. We do not work for nor are we sponsored by LMC. Further we have no idea who they buy the covers from. Ours turned out just as we show you in the video.
Very help full , just sprayed the roof of my 1991 vw polo in my garage in not ideal place. Dust nibs all over😢. Now i know i can remove them thank you ❤ from England 🏴
Informative video. I am getting ready to do some glass channeling in an old Model A Ford. They have the same type of tape. Their instructions say to coat the rubber with motor oil. They say it aids in putting it on but the oil will swell the rubber making a good tight fit. Does your kerosene do the swelling as well? Thanks. Tom
What were the symptoms? I’m getting a code P0336. & getting engine power loss & traction service light. Along with the check engine & oil lamp. It’s seems ok for about 200 yards and then chock’s & sputters. I’m at a loss @ only 61890 miles. It’s (was)my dream car.
Good question! Possible causes of the P0336 code include a defective crankshaft position sensor, reluctor ring issues, and crankshaft position sensor connector issues. Some symptoms of the P0336 code include an illuminated check engine light, a hard starting/cranking engine, and hesitation during acceleration or stalls. Hope this helps you solve the issue.
@@CarzPlus thank you. This car is a bi**h to get to most of these parts. The battery position is the worst. Who thought it was a good idea to place a battery where you have to take the fender off?
@@MichelleBertschI just removed the bolts from the plastic in the fender well which gave me enough clearance to wiggle out the batter without removing the fender. There is also a metal bracket that u need to also take out
Good to hear that our video inspired you to share your Burma Shave memory. We love hearing from our viewers when they write about nostalgia. Thanks for watching!
Loved the video , I started watching to give me ideas to fix my issue. I tried a one step swerl remover and scrached my hood worse. Could I use this system on a factory BMW paint job with swerl marks in the clear coat successfully? Thank you for all the information❤ ❤
2006 Pontiac Solstice - I just changed both the Intake and the Exit with PHILTOP Solenoid Variable Valve Timing Solenoid ,Replace Intake Solenoid 917215,Exhaust Solenoid 917216, VVT 2 PCS for $25 on Amazon (instead of $75 each with OEM Parts). I never would have attempted it with out your video. THANK YOU! I have had my engine light on for years, no mechanic could figure it out, I bought a OBD2 reader and had 7 codes, fixed all after these changes and a new air filter, again Thank you for your informative video
Thank you for writing this superb review! The information you included is greatly appreciated, as it will be useful to our viewers. Good to hear that the video inspired you to take the plunge. Thanks for watching!
A novelty for the time, the stick allowed for the appearance of someone ghostly operating it. This adds to the fun of driving the Terraplane, and it is easily removable, allowing for that extra passenger. It can be put back in place again, if you want to have that configuration. Good question and thanks for watching!
Note: If you remove the plastic weld, on the inside of the door panel, FIRST!! You can slide UP the original plastic shaft, (and reuse it.) Dont destroy it. It pulls straight up from the bottom to the top. Slide in new handle, easily slide OLD pin in from Top to bottom, then weld tab on... with solder gun! 😅it's easy, no fighting door panel, and you're finished in maybe 4 or 5 minutes.👍
Thank you so much for the video! I’m on vacation with no tools and was able to watch your video and order the replacement tools and part on Amazon. I was able to fix my car with this video. There is nothing more terrifying than getting an “engine power reduced” message, and not being able to go over 2,000 RPM and 60 MPH on the freeway.
There's a shark nose near where I live, it has been sat for decades and missing all the baubles. It's a shame that such a significant car will probably never get restored just for how daunting it would be to track down or fabricate all those pieces. It looks great from the 3/4 angle, and there are a lot of really interesting and prescient individual elements to the design but overall it doesn't quite click, certainly no Blue Streak. It's a shame Northrup's originally envisioned fastback got axed, would have worked a lot better
We agree! It's heartbreaking to see such a magnificent machine get neglected like that. If it hasn't deteriorated too much, there might be hope. Some parts can be found through the Graham Owners Club International. Kenny Sayre, Manny Hondroulis and I can help with the search. Where is the Graham located?
Another great video my friend! I always learn something. Do you use a wax after you finish the car? For added protection? Thank you for taking the time to make your videos, very much appreciated. I am getting close to painting the metal gas tank and fiberglass body kit on my old 1976 Yamaha RD400. The high performance engine I built, actually started up with an auxiliary gas tank. Turned it off as soon as it started - I'll wait until the painted parts are done. Almost time for the drag strip, at 69 I can't afford to crash and burn. LOL. I primed everything with a rattle can and one coat of gloss black. All is sanded and ready to spray with a LVLP and then with a 2K clear coat. First time using this spray gun, if it doesn't do well, I can try the HVLP. Haven't used it either. I expect lots of floating shit to be attracted to my attempt to paint! Building and repair of bikes and restoration, I need to learn to paint. It would be a lot less cost. I'm sure you understand that. Sorry for going on and on, must be an old man thing. Again, thank you very much!
Take the wheel off. Much easier with less struggles. Drive the car tire onto a 2x4 if you need floor jack clearance, and be sure to use a jack stand once you have the car jacked up.
Yep. That'll work. We didn't use the MaxJax that day. We have an outdoor pad for it and didn't use it, maybe because of weather. This is the other way to "skin the cat." Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching.
I am not a pro painter! Do you know the paint/reducer/hardener mix ratio for the *old* Limco Supreme (not low VOC plus formula). Found an old can I wanna use up. Can't find the mix instructions. Thanks. I use dollar store measuring cups. LOL
