Excellent video with the iconic name of the guitarist of the band Police. I really like the EHX effects (+-10 pieces), this one belongs to the newer models (at least in name, maybe it's an upgraded version of an older model, unfortunately I don't have it), but it sounds and does a lot. Excellent work and presentation. Greetings Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
I mainly use the Strymon Deco v2 for Summers tones because it's more versatile, but I use one of these as a reference to set up those tones since it's more aligned to what Summers used. I love this sound, and the pedal looks so cool that it's tough to keep it off my board. One of these days, I'm going to have to do an all EHX board.
I think it’s important to point out that this is the standard current Electric Mistress flanger, just with a new name. This info is straight from Electro Harmonix. A lot of people watching demos seem to think this is a reissue of the old Mistress that Andy Summers used, but it is not.
I love how he finally does this episode AFTER the new Lizard King releases… Nontheless the queen is a great pedal and I am happy it’s featured on this wonderful channel ❤
No, we cannot, because we’re trying to show off what the pedal is capable of, and not necessarily how YOU might use it. That’s the point of a demo. Also, fast chorus can be wicked fun!!
⚠️ WARNING!⚠️ This comment may contain traces of fanboying. This is a fantastic channel. Clear, concise walkthroughs with an elegant, uncluttered production aesthetic. And if that wasn’t enough… achingly tasteful note choices too. Thank you and bravo.
@@pedaloftheday Tasteful and comprehensive pedal demonstrations done right. "Pedal of the Day" is, hands down, one of my favorite places on the internet. You deserve a million subs.
I can tell its a very old model. So what. You act like its superior in some way but its not. People have more choices in 2024. They don't have to buy into your 1 view on the world 🌎 Other versions are superior in other ways. You're allowed to eat a different sandwich 🥪 every day. We're not stuck eating the cheese sandwich everyday. Grow up. You should be appreciating the differences not dismissive of some versions.
Could you show me where in the demo I said that this pedal was "superior" to any other pedal? Do you mean because I simply stated a fact that this was a 50 year old pedal...?? What's my "one view on the world", too?? Please explain.
This demo only shows the range of insane sounds the RP Particle 2 can be. Fun, yes, but this pedal also does subtle blends of effects REALLY well. The optional $99 4-button control pedal is great to step on!!! I can use the 4 presets to have a boost, a low octave or pitched chorus, a delay, and a reverse delay. It’s a compact multi-effect pedal. I love this pedal so much.
I have one myself. It’s a super responsive pedal. You can really dig in hard and blow the walls down or play lightly and it just sings cleanly. I also really like both that the boost can be before or after the drive and that I find a musical sound out of this pedal through the entire eq range
Good Sunday evening, very nice fuzz effect with a massive but also readable sound. Effect control very good. I have been looking for a way to fuzz effects for a little longer, now I have 3 pieces and tomorrow will be the day of truth, I will be delivered the 2 latest pieces of fuzz from Joyo, so I am curious about their musical expression. My best regards, Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
Reminds me of my Geisha drive,or my angry orange pedal or my protein drive, wrench fuzz pedal,DOD gunslinger(yep),Bonsai Del Mar,etc.etc.AND THEY ALL SOUND KILLER THIS DEMO IS GOING TO HURT MY WALLET.....LOVED IT.
Good Saturday evening, great overfrive with booster, the price is not low, but the sound is pleasant. The control system is probably perfect, large potentiometers and the marking of positions is great. I wish you a nice weekend, it's 32 degrees C here at 6:30 p.m. Greetings, Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
I just returned the Brutus I ordered. Why? The Voice switch will get kicked when engaging the pedal in a live situation. Caline should just have that function a mini- switch placed more near the controls. Also, the (Midlands) overdrive is weak. I know it's meant to be low gain so it can be stacked into the (Action Replay) distortion but I don't do that stacking mess. I prefer to get the tone I want from one pedal and use overdrive as a stand-alone effect. But I do like the Action Replay so I returned the Brutus and ordered an AR. I have other overdrives I can bring in.
I just got one of these. I'm playing a Jackson JS32 with stock Jackson pickups (which aren't terrible) through it into the power amp in of my Boss Katana MkII head. So far, I love it. It most definitely gives me that Dual Rectifier type of tone, especially with a Tube Sreamer type overdrive in front of it. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that I can't seem to get a full bypass through it. It just switches from a high gain channel to a clean channel that is still affected by the volume knob and possibly the tone knobs as well. On my pedal board, I like to run a couple of different preamp/distortion pedals for different tones. Whatever is in line before the Dual Wreck is affected by the Dual Wreck, even on the clean channel. I wish there was a way to get a full bypass through it.
Good evening, great overdrive with a beautiful and transparent sound, sounds very nice, control options OK. Thanks for the video. Greetings Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
Good evening, certainly an interesting effect with the lamp. There are alternatives (considering the price), but everyone has to compare that in their own head. I like it sonically, I have a TC Electronic Pilot and one Behringer tube overdrive effect at home. Thank you for the beautiful video. Greetings Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
The TD-1 and TD-2 from Mozztronics are amazing as well - any pedal with a tube in it is usually a win for me, and those two and the Sol Drive are no exception!! 🤘💥
Disappointing, too scratchy and too fuzzy sound for my taste, even more, if you consider the price. Also a Tung-Sol tube is the wrong choice for such a low voltage circuit in my opinion, as it even in high voltage amps has the tendency to sound too thin and scratchy, with annoying treble but hardly anything else. (My experience, so I don't use them anymore anywhere.) For me this is a warmed up and soundwise made worse Tube Driver or maybe Zendrive II, I don't know and I also don't care. I already had a lot of comparable tube pedals during the last decades, most of them only for a short time, so I certainly do not need another one, which does not really blow me away soundwise and this one certainly does not at all, sorry!
This is What I'm going to have to do. First, the Wall is not Flat, its very uneven because whoever put up Sheet Rock, didnt know what they were doing, and there are no ordinary Wall Studs I can find...? So, I'm gong put up a 1 x 6 x 4.5' Board, then Mount the String Swing to IT. I tried their way and the screws starting pulling out of the wall, with only 2 Guitars on it, I was standing right beside it, testing it...
I've had mine for a fortnight or so now, and certainly still haven't explored all of its potential, but am already in love with this cute little unit. So far I've found at least a dozen effects that I use on daily basis, but one single feature that, IMHO, justifies the purchase is that FLUX functionality. Something quite unique and a great material for experimentation. Oh, BTW, thank you for an awesome demo. Such presentations are usually inspiring, and your selection of the effects shown certainly encourages to try at least some of them.
Hi POTD. i have a doubt, does this pedal self oscillate and get out of control and louder with each repeat when the repeat knob is cranked all the way up?? Or does it give u near infinite repeats that eventually fade without self oscillate? Kinda Similar to what the sonicake levitate does
