Nice to see you’re a fan of reducing GGE. Have you considered a serious challenge of City of Ottawa bylaw 2017-301-16(4)? This bylaw makes it illegal for schoolbuses to park on any city street, thereby forcing drivers to drive empty buses back and forth to the yards between the morning and afternoon runs. The impact here is that hundreds of buses are unnecessarily burning diesel and contributing to traffic congestion each day. I’ll leave it to you to calculate the number of polar bears of GGE, however it is significant. Buses should be permitted to park on the street from 0900-1400 daily. There are many streets in every community where a bus can be safely parked away from intersections and driveways. This is also a recruitment and retention issue for drivers. No one wants to drive back and forth to the yard 4x each day. You have more work to do OSTA.
