I'll admit Derrick Rose does this all the time as well and refs allow him to get away with it. It's still a palming violation but he doesn't abuse it as badly as Griffin did in this play. Open court and Griffin decides to carry the ball way behind his body is insane. It's impossible to guard a fake like that and why the rule was changed. Rose at most will just switch hands really quickly and use his speed to get to the rim. The ball can easily be taken during the switch which makes it defendable
Yes it is a carry. Allen Iverson used to get called for it all the time and was a huge reason the rule was changed to include motions such as this. Also, no one is mad, you're just a fucking idiot. Your palm don't have to be under the ball to get a palming violation, it just has to be rested in your hand which you can clearly see it is in this video. He tilted the ball in his hand so that he could try and fake Rose and got caught. You're a fucking idiot too.

@esrom22 Not a carry. You can pause at 0:13-0:14 and see his thumb/part of his hand clearly above the ball. As long as that hand doesn't disappear on the side of the ball, it's not a carry. Trust me, there are a lot worse just watch slow-mo's of any great cross-over and you will probably see a carry. Here however, there is not.
