Very very nice competition a treat to watch, but ... Maybe I'm wrong but... This year we have 80/100 pike and zander and perch a little neglected, too bad for my taste
Bravo Westin!!! Excityng competition, next year make it bigger, add more tems ,up to 10, and add more spicies of fish like asp and chub, add some more river fishing from banks
I do not agree to the way team Rapala is treating the small pike. There is no good way to get them into the boat using the line. In other formats (for example the YPC-competitions) you will get a time-penalty of 10 minutes for doing this. Not only for pike, but also for perch and zander. You will have to use a net or to get the fish into the boat using your hands. On the other side: Only allowing barbless hooks is a great advance!
You are right. It is really poor fish handling especially from the shorter/bigger Rapala guy. He is doing it various times (Abu guy at least one time, too). @EFL Fishing with barbless hooks seems like a PR move, when you allow fish treatment like that.
Superfantastic show and grrreeaat competition! Cheers to EFL team! Big respect to all teams and their effort. Ya'll good! Westin you the best here and now!
Do you mean neck grip? If so it's safe and effective on small fish. I usually take only gil grip but the neck grip is good for keeping the mouth open sometimes. Just gotta make sure the gills are in order and dont get affected. As always make sure the pike sidlips are outside when releasing the pike.
Great show! One thing I would like to see for next year is to have a larger impact from the first legs of fishing. Seems like one pike in Finland has a very big impact. Anyway great show, looking forward to next year!
