Now load it up with people, a serious battery pack and the structural integrity required by the aviation industry and let's see if it can take off. This is nothing to talk about it having to survive the rigors of testing.
Sir, i wonder, if outrunner motor then the outer side is magnet, then why dont we attach secondary winding for extra electricity or alternator, so we can earn extra flight time, and maybe we put solar cell panel on its wing too, to have another power source, and small wind turbine too,
It would still be nice to glide under a no power situation, which this cannot (control still relies on rotors for simplicity). Also dubious stability under low-power glide, c.g. looks too far forward for natural longitudinal stability in gliding flight, that probably needs some attention because it might cause some bad controllability under some conditions. Still, I like what's going on here and the range and endurance boost from the wing.
maybe needs deployable front canards? I think those rotors should be incorporated into the undercarriage, and the undercarriage should be made retractable
Quadruple power supply redundancy, double propeller redundancy, AND a ballistic parachute add up to one of the safest small aircraft concepts in current existence. I want one of these and will acquire one as soon as I sell off my mother-in-law for scientific research
I feel that solid state, in frame of chassis batteries that provide both structure and body if evtol must be the stage or two after this one shown here. The batteries, as part of body. Mych quicker charge times with much less weight to power ratios, with cheaper to make ssb's....7AF
these joke projects exist because of some government folks like spending tax payers money just to show them self. Cant understand how planes are noise restricted from some airports while these ugly things would throw toms of dB in the heart of cities.. Stop the fantasy !!!
All of these "drone" type eVTOL companies (Joby, Archer) fail to understand the problem. You cannot land one of these in a neighborhood or on a road. You cannot even go far enough to get to the next airport, where nobody wants to go. This is USELESS. New Combustion tech is distributed with small motors that are 60 to 75% efficient and 3 HP/LB at the prop. No battery, just gasoline, Ethanol, Natural Gas or electro fuels of Methanol or Ethanl. It is 200 times less CO2 on RE and 2 times less on gasoline. There is no point to EV tech.
Notice the cloud of dust. This alone makes these invalid. You cannot do VTOL in a city anymore than a helicopter can. All of these eVTOL fail to understand the problem. New combustion tech makes the EV drives OBSOLETE. 60-75% efficient combustion that allows 120 MPG at 120 mph, and 13.3 MPG at 360 MPH. 0 to 360, door to door in craft under $100k. No EV can come close.
All of these eVTOL airplanes will go bankrukpt. New distributed combustion tech makes them all obsolete. Try 0 to 360 mph with range at 120 mph of 14,000 miles and at 360 mph at 1600 mile. No EV can come close. Door to door able, allowing landing and takeoff from roads in a legal manner.
Just get you a Honda gas generator and ratchet strap it to the dang thing then BAM you'll be flyin all day, buddy! Man these companies are dumb. They should be making hybrids.
How do you deal with the fact that as your airspeed increases you require less thrust for remaining airborne, but require more thrust to overcome aerodynamic drag? This would mean the X components of your thrust would need to increase - which in turn increases your Y components are they are not decoupled and you dont tilt the motors. I assume you never reach steady level flight from solely the aerodynamic surfaces?
