@@mr.e.2175 dude like 20 fish were in the small pools just couldn’t get one to bite. I will still buy my tags. I just couldn’t get one to bite. The fish could see is that’s probably why.
@@fightthefishpnw5455 get ready for some combat fishing then lol ,I still gotta get on a salmon one of these days .still the one fish I've never caught yet unfortunately
@@HurtinForSturgeon I’m use to combat fishing. Especially when shad fishing and winter steelhead. It’s Ben 5 years since I’ve got a big salmon. I can’t wait to hook up.
You should really be using leaded line for your pots or at least a clip-on weight. Having that much loose floating line is a major prop hazard for powerboats.
@@cbernard72 no one uses leaded line in this bay. Sometimes 50 plus pots in the bay and not a problem. The lines only go 2 ways. In with the current and out with the current. The dock of the bay marina rents out boats with pots with out leaded line.
Fair enough I'm sure you know that bay better than I do. I do know a lot of boats pass through that area under the bridge. Not a bad idea to use weighted line in general, especially if you fish other bays. Tight lines 🤙
I fished that spot a couple weekends ago. Caught a couple small sculpins but Zero flounders. Also there was so much sea grass every retrieve was snagging up. It was frustrating fishing
@@PB-jk8bl yeah sometimes fishing any bay or mouth of a river. Some days lots of shit gets washed in. The last time I went out was before razor clam closed. I got a limit of clams to use as bait and didn’t catch a single fish. It was definitely better than going to work.
The cats get so much bigger. This was the first one we got out of the willamette. Probably why we got excited lol. We are going to use 10 lbs test from now on. Lots of shags at this spot. But it has tons of big fish.
Nice catch I live in Salem would be cool to go fishing sometime. I fish 3-4 times a week haven’t caught any largemouth this year jus trout fising at Walter wirth and hagg lake but I did catch a few small mouth on the willimatte in Wilsonville
Many dead animals draining off into the spring lots of homeless people camping in the woods doing the thing if you know what I mean. I’d use a filter just in case just saying.
If your Pops was there he'd tell ya rub some dirt on it and get back out there. 😄 Thats what id tell my son. Grip it and Rip it. 😄 in all seriousness i hope not too bad and you didn’t have to get a tetanus ahot
