fantastic to see this footage again would be great to get Ten Pin Bowling back on TV i remember during the 90's it use to be shown during cricket lunch break
One thing I've noticed with a lot of these Aussie tournamemts back in the 80s, very substandard lane conditions. Almost no oil on the lanes. Pretty much the reason why most top Aussie bowlers of that era had poor hand releases with little power and poor techniques from having to chuck the ball down the lanes.
I really enjoyed the spc tournament after 38 years . Missing the sport so much . The only regret I have is choosing business instead of keeping the ten pin bowling in my life .
An 18-year-old Carol Gianotti. Three years later, she'd win the WIBC Queens event in the US. Nice to see her inducted into the PWBA Hall of Fame in 2020.
I was the U.S. Champion at that World Cup... I LOVE Cara Honeychurch... but. Sharlin was the BEST at that World Cup!!! Cara and Paeng had a left-handed advantage in the FINALS!!! There was NO chance that a right-handed bowler would have a CHANCE against ANY left-hander in those Finals... Not ANYTHING against Cara... nor Sharlin... It was STRICTLY against AMF and the AMF World Cup who FINANCED Paeng and his left-handed side of the lane! THE ENTIRE WEEK!!!!!! (sounds like sour grapes, I know... but, it's only because the LANES BECAME sour during the FINALS!!!) Paeng paid his way through AMF to WIN! Sorry???????? NOPE!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for uploading! Always wanted to watch this one. Maxine Nable was one of my favorite bowlers. On a side note, and don't mean to offend, but that helicopter spinner style is just unwatchable...
@@tenpinspinneraustralia8754 sadly bowling in Taiwan died with her. It's still popular as a hobby but nowhere near the professional circuit it is in Japan.
