In the finale, Kevin tells Allyson, you're nothing without me, that's a little fourth wall breaking as saying "this is my show and you're only an extra". That's what the sitcom world is, the space in which people become extras of their own lives due to some narcissitic person making everything about them. With Alysson it started with his father's death and being alone with her mother, and then with Kevin. After Allyson started to break free from Kevin, they all started doing it to live their own lives: Neal making the biggest break and arc of the story in a violent way. To paraphrase Gumball: It's only funny when it happens to someone else... Great video!!! Thanx!!!
I always thought it was like how every body plays apart in other peoples life, like Allison plays the victim, Patty and Neil are followers and need someone to tell them what to do, and Kevin and Allison‘s mom are in sitcoms because they’re selfish and everyone exists in “their” world.
I always thought the sitcom was caused by her mom and Kevin because they ppl like that feel like everyone else is in “their” world and their totally selfish and self-absorbed
I don’t think Allison is using the sitcom to disassociate. There are many scenes where Allison is not present for the sitcom antics. I think the sitcom scenes are a way to draw attention to how abuse is glossed over in society, by contrasting it against the drama scenes and the real life consequences of sitcom characters behaviors.
It's embarrassing to ask, but can you please send me the pilot if you still have it? The channel that uploaded it seems to have gotten deleted. I used to watch the original Israeli show the pilot is based on, so I'm really curious to see how it was done. Thanks in advance! Edit: Okay after watching the entire video I have to say it's really different lol. They made it worse in my opinion.
In the guardians of the galaxy holiday special when the tell Kevin bacon to act like a hero he acts like Batman and says he is Bruce Wayne which means that Kevin bacons Batman in a thing in the mcu
Only the first couple eps of Nancy Drew 2019 can be compared to RD... it's overall MUCH better, with much smarter writing. After a few episodes, the cast really gels and once it gets fully into the supernatural horror aspect, it's absolutely worth a watch IMO. Really glad this pilot never got made so we could get the CW one.
Observer bias: if you start with a theory, you WILL find things supporting your argument, or make things FIT the argument. I don't think cannibalism is involved. At the very least, you can't use the paintings as proof. The show sets the Founders as Gods and uses religious-type iconography from the start. That a representation of Evil from a religious perspective where God, therefore lower creatures, Sinners, exist, could very well depict and the wrath of God on Heretics (always the "opposite" camp") as butchery is likely as just part of a running theme. The idea remains to keep people on track and apart. Also, not everyone is thin, and Irving has a dog, food is not THAT scarce or else people outside would run amok. And why would women have children? as food? It takes food to maintain a pregnancy, no gain. And we are only shown ONE deserted greenhouse, Still your theory is as valid as any, just as is my explanation. It's very hard to stay clear of bias.
I think your username fits, this definitely should’ve stayed in the drafts. This whole video just comes off that you’re jealous that they’re successful for making a successful show, not everyone has to be like your childhood hero. Besides, you said yourself that the show is as good as it’s ever been, but now because they’re being unscripted on an unscripted show now they’re “out of touch”? Which is it? It seems like you just thought you knew who they were from watching Sunny and are upset that they’re not just their characters as if that makes your opinion valid. Like you’re trying to get “gotcha’s” out of Glen talking about what he’s doing in his life as if these guys claim they’re experts. They’re just three friendly idiots around a table trying to make us laugh. No one is going to the fuckin always sunny podcast for health advice…
